Q: Chiropractic treatment for headaches and head / neck / back pain
asked by: DoctorQuestion on May 21st, 2009
I have back pain that goes down my legs all the way to my feet. I was told last year that I have a bulging disc, degenerative disk disorder and some arthritis. Right now my back isn't as bad but the pain down my legs is getting worse. I was going to have a shot in my back but I'm on Plavix and can not get the shot until September. I am in a lot of pain quite often. Would a chiropractor help?

Chiropractic care can be effective in the treatment of back pain and radiculitis. Radiculitis is when the disc bulges onto the adjacent nerve and causes irritation to the nerve. The nerves go to different areas of the body and therefore can cause pain and other symptoms elsewhere (the legs, in your case).

It is suggested that you consult with a chiropractor to see if they would be able to help with your specific case. They may opt to include non-surgical spinal decompression as part of your treatment. Good luck.
