Q: Chipped Bone?

I recently punched through a door out of anger (long story don't ask)

But It happened almost two months ago, and my middle knuckle is still swollen. It doesn't hurt at all when I move it, it is sometimes uncomfortable to the touch. The thing that concerns me is that I have a hard patch, maybe a chipped bone that grew to something, that is attached to the skin underneath. It goes across the whole knuckle almost like a tendon turned 90 degrees.

What could it be?

It sounds like a bone break that healed incorrectly.

Honestly, the only way to know for certain is to get it x-rayed. Although, since you've waited for so long, they might not be able to help you. After two months, the only thing that can be done is to re-break it and set it properly. This may or may not be feasible in your case: it depends on where the break is, how bad it is, and how much it has calcified. Your orthopedist should be able to tell you more.

Any time there is a suspected bone break, the sooner you see the doctor, the better your chances of a full recovery. Even now, the sooner you see your doctor, the more likely they are to be able to safely re-break it for you.

Unfortunately, if it can't be fixed, you are in for a very uncomfortable old age full of arthritis. Actually, if my experience is any indicator, you won't have to wait until you're old: you'll start developing arthritis in 10 years or so.
