My 9 yr old son has cp and no bowel or bladder control, no awareness really. He can go 14 hr or so without urinating. He woke up at 6:30 this am in extreme pain below his naval. He did not want to be touched and did not want to move. He cried and sometimes screamed for about an hr. He also begged me to take him to the dr. when the office opened - he is very afraid of drs. While I was running him a bath he stopped crying and said he was OK now. I went to get him ready for the tub and his diaper was soaked. Evidently, urinating relieved his pain. He has a check-up scheduled for a few weeks from now. Should I try to get him in sooner or wait and see if this happens again?

Thank you

I think it's important to have him see a doctor. What I first thought of was appendicitis or a bladder infection. It's hard to say without more details...
