I've been to the ER 4 times in the last 3 months, felt like I was having a heart attack. Pain in different part of the chest, had some searing pain in the chest, like nothing I've ever felt before, like a hot poker jabbed in the chest.
All tests, EKG's, xrays, stress test, enzymes, echocardiogram, are normal.
I feel great in the morning, don't eat breakfast, then after lunch, I start feeling icky, and after dinner.
I stopped smoking, stopped eating fast food, except grilled chicken or subway turkey breast.
I been having PVC's, dizzy and light headed at times, rapid heart beat a couple times, and generally sick feeling
I drank 2 beers last night, and felt like poop, went to ER again, they said I'm fine.
I'm just frustrated and feel like giving up, cause I seen a GI doc, he did all kinds of blood tests, and an upper GI, I do have a small hiatial hernia and some erosion from acid reflux, he checked me for Celiac disease, allergys to glutens, that was negetive. I asked him to start testing my gall bladder, and he refused, which blew my mind, so I fired him, got to get a new doc, 4 months ago I was fine, now I feel sick all the time, the chest pain has been moderate, kinda like gas.
I had a ultra sound, that my primary doc setup, no stones, but have a fatty liver had high cholesterol
any ideas?

Hi , you could try a liver detox diet, alaklizing diet, drink more filtered water & hydrate better. stay away from any sodas (including beer)they deplete magnesium from our bodies & that causes more problems than you could wish for. Cholesterol melts at 149deg F, when you add lecithin to your diet the melting point is 84degF, add omega 3 oil to your diet & the melting point reduces to zero! To learn the importance of mineral BALANCE go to the educational site ithyroid.com search these files they are full of good info on how minerals interact & how they affect our bodies & illnesses.

First: I'm so proud of you for getting rid of that doctor who refused to test your gallbladder. More people should react the way you did. After all, they work for us, right?

I would go ahead and go to the new doctor and get your gallbladder checked. If you were to have a blockage with a stone it could be life-threatening. If you get that horrible pain again, go into the ER.

Have you been having any chest symptoms other than the pain, like coughing or shortness of breath? Have you had a chest x-ray? Your pain could also be pleurisy, which is an inflammation of the lining of the lungs usually due to infection. If you have any lung symptoms, mention them.

Also, write down when your symptoms are worse (after a fatty meal, when you wake up, whenever) and when they are better (when you lie down, put pressure on the area, etc). Make a list of your questions to ask the doctor, too. In addition to checking your gallbladder, you may want to ask for a chest x-ray or a chest CT.

I read your post about your post..I had to hvve my gallbladder removed after I ended up in the ER with severe pain..I thought I was having a heart attack the pain had me doubled over and my chest felt horrible..I was placed on 24 hr. antibiotics IV and then had surgery..They biopsied my liver as well as they said they saw chagnes and I learned I have a fatty liver..I am over weight and slowly losing so hopefully this will help as my mom died of autoimmune cirrohsis of the liver..I do watch my liver lab works--have it done every six months..Once I had the gallbladder surgery I find thatmany foods bother me really bad for more than one reason..My favorite at the end of month ofcourse was chocolate-it just about kills me now--must be the oils..I wish you the best and if you want to talkplease just PM..KD

nibis! if your gallstones, if you have them, arn't too big they can be disolved, i think by using the lecithin,
omega3 & a cloudy apple cider vinegar with pulp settled in the bottom of the bottle, you only use a little amount(i use 8 drops in a glass of water) or even have 1 or 2 apples a day.

I don't think so, but I'm not sure, since a very reputable clinic website (which I can't say the name of because I'd be advertising) said that they can form in your gallbladder or nearby bile ducts. If they can form in the bile ducts, maybe they can do that without a gallbladder, but maybe they don't bother you in that case. Not everyone with gallstones has symptoms, especially if they're small.

The stones can be either made of cholesterol or calcium salts. You can ask your doctor about bile salt tablets, which can dissolve cholesterol gallstones 50% of the time. There are other, non-surgical treatments, as well, but they aren't appropriate in all cases. If the stones are large and are blocking the ducts, you need faster treatment.

First, you need a diagnosis. It may not even be your gallbladder. You need more tests and a better doctor to know for sure.

Lydia,
Thanks for your post, yes I have had 3 chest xrays, 4 or 5 ekg's, a stress test with echo, and a echo at the cardio doc.
I have had a full ab ultrasound, no gall stones reported, but do have a fatty liver, and my cholestorol is high,so my primary put me on Zocor, my liver enzymes are elevated, but not to bad.
I was only short of breath with one attack, the worse one. The one that scared me so bad, I quit smoking!
I have an appointment with my primary on the 9th, so he can recommend me a GI doc that will test my gall bladder.
The doc I fired was recommended as a liver specialest, by one of the doc's I work with, BTW, I work in dialysis, and have lots of docs and nurses that I work with, I try to pick their brains as much as possible.
One thing thats weird, I feel better up moving around, when I sit still, I feel worse.
I kinda thought I had pancreatitis, but the labs say no.
Oh well, all I know, is I would give anything to feel like I did 5 to 6 months ago
Will keep up with the docs to get this figured out

Nibis I can tell you about my gallbladder problems. I have not had mine removed because it puts lots of stress on your colon and then more prone to colon cancer. I had my first attack last fall. I had been feeling this weird sensation in my right side just under my ribcage. It felt like a muscle spasm. Then a few days later it got worse and I was doubled over with severe chest pains. I called the paramedics and after they got here they told me I was not having a heart attack but it could be my gallbladder. By that time the pains had disappeared and I refused to go to the hospital. A few days later my doctor said it sounded like I passed a gallstone. So I had an ultrasound and I had a few tiny stones. I did alot of research online. Doctor said I did not have to have my gallbladder removed unless it became infected, which then would be life threatening. I found a website that instructed me to try the water flush. So I drink about 10 glasses of water a day now, or try to, and that awful pain has not returned. Whenever I feel like someone is poking me in the right side, I take a big drink of water and its gone in 10 minutes. As for the PVCs, I have had those about 25 years now. I was just recently on an event monitor because they were getting worse and could not be captured on the EKG. I found that taking Mylanta when I have the chest pains from these skipped beats has helped alot. I'm thinking I may have GERD and that is whats causing the PVCs. I just found out that you can have GERD and not have any burning in your esophigis. Anyway, I hope this helps.

Nibis, I had exactly the same symtoms as you, ER doctors acted like I was crazy because the pain was sometimes on the left and sometimes on the right. Ultrasound showed no gallstones so I was sent home 3 times being told I had gerd. Fourth time in the er (felt like heart attack) gastro doctor ordered a hida scan. Scan showed my gallbladder is abnormal, functioning at only 10%. Met with a surgeon who said gallbladder pain can be very similar to cardiac problems and can occur on the left side as well as the right and between the shoulder blades, lower back and neck. He is removing my gallbladder next week. Ask for a hida scan and good luck.
