I feel some tightness in my chest. It's very much the feeling you get when you're really nervous about something. And I get it almost all the time. It's not painful, just uncomfortable. I'm sure it's not my heart or lungs? Can it be associated with severe stress?

Try to go for a quiet walk, take long deep even breaths (without pushing yourself), and see how you feel after 10 minutes.

Stress is a physiological response which we repeat when we are in certain situations. The mental part is just a piece of the puzzle, but your physical body has also learned to react in this way to outside stimuli.

It is possible to change our response.

Is there a reason u guys are not taking a calming drug? I lived with these symtoms most of my life. Now I take a mild antidepressant and I get on with living. These symptoms eventually develope into depression and cause you to become anti social. Perhaps the Doctor can advise whether or not there is a reason you should perseve with your symptoms.
