My 8 year old son went to a pool on 5-30-2009 and came out screaming. He said his private area hurt. Right away we thought he had injured himself somehow. Anyway, he came out a second time screaming and crying. I took him to the bathroom and checked and saw nothing. So to be on the safe side I took him to the ER. The doctor said he had a chemical reaction or burn to his private area. He told us what to use for it and what to watch for as in infection. My question is should his sack be hard or should it be soft as normal? I have been appling the medicine as directed but this morning it felt odd to me. Is the hardness of the skin part of the healing?
