Good day,

I'm a 25-year old male. Two weeks ago, I had a 4-hour-long surgery to extract 8 teeth (4 wisdom 4 impacted with the wisdoms). A big cyst was also taken out from the upper jaw (above the impacted pair). I started to feel really good 4 days after the surgery and the gum healing was and is going perfectly as my Dr. described. My problem is that yesterday I felt my right cheek mildly swollen (only outside). Still it's there today. It can be noticed if you look at it closely. It hurts if pressed on. I feel mild discontinuous pain from that area which I can really ignore.

Why did it swell after that time? Shall I get back to my dentist or wait more few days?

Thank you

Give it a few days...Don't be surprised if you get black and blue...If you use anything use ice and not heat...You don't want to start the bleeding again....You had one big surgery all at once...Take care...

If you didn't have those symptoms right after the surgery and they are suddenly appearing 2 weeks later, I would see the dentist immediately on that one. If you've always been swollen there, then likely this is not abnormal.
