Hi I'm new to this site and would like to hear from any one who cares to answer. Here goes this evening my husband and I got to talking about women and sex after a site I accidently came across while looking for info. about a medical problem I'm having on the computer. Well we talked about different things and he said in a kind way of course, but it still bothered me because I'm going through a lot of medical problems, and a few months ago I was told I was also post menapause (I turned 49 in June,) he said that I seem to have a different smell now than I did when I wasn't in menapause "you know the sexual smell of the vaginal region". he said not a bad smell just a different smell not the kind of smell that makes you want to have oral sex as much like before,Well that added one more brick to the load I'm carrying, I'm don't want to cry in front of him but tomorrow when he's gone to work and my son goes to school I'm going to have one of those ugly face cries. Has any of you heard or been told this and if not would you mind asking your husband if you seem to smell different, "but don't tell them about me asking, I know it shouldn't make any difference but somehow it does you know what I mean?" Embarassed Thanks

Change in Smell
My periods never smelled but the infrequent periods I had in the last two years before they finally stopped really did stink. I hated being smelly and no matter how I cleaned myself, the smell was there. And my husband remarked that I had a "strong" smell. Don't worry. It goes away. Don't let it be another "brick" you carry. Just keep clean and roll with it.

I'm not saying that he thinks I smell bad, I'm a very clean person, I'm saying it's a different kind of smell, not a bad smell, it's the kind that gets men really excited. I'm thinking it is a toned down kind of odor that's lost pizazz that you have when you're younger, and now because maybe I'm past child bearing age and the body just kind of changes in all kinds of ways like muscle tone and wrinkles and grey hair and etc. No, he doesn't think I sell bad just different than I did. Lighter type of smell.

peri menapause
Speaking of the change of smell, have u noticed a change in the amount and texture of your discharge and discomfort in the form of cramps before the start of mensus(when u did)? I hope u were able to move on from the comment that ur husband made. I think most of us have a bit of trouble with the signs of aging.

A woman will go through many different periods in her life when her sexual aroma changes....It is and can be very erotic.....Use it to your advantage....If he comments that you smell different then tell him this is because you are different....Tell him you are more of a tiger today than you were yesterday and then go get him......

Don't ever let this aging thing get you down....Your mind is the thing that changes that causes all the trouble....Dye your hair if you want to...My husband hasn't seen my natural color for 20 years and so now he accepts it....Age is a number only....Have fun......

Take care, Candyann

When do you get the little guys to go on your page like the Protest thing above.?

smelling different
HI EVERYONE, THIS IS SUCH A SENSITIVE SUBJECT FOR ME. YES, I AS WELL SMELL VERY DIFFERENT IN THE FEMALE REGION. IM ON BIO- HORMONES AND FEEL REALLY GREAT ON THEM HOWEVER! THE ODOR IS SIMILAR TO THAT OF A WET RAG THAT NEEDS TO BE LAUNDERED. THERE I SAID IT. COMING RIGHT OUT OF THE SHOWER I CAN SMELL A WET RAG . IT IS FAINT BUT NONETHELESS THE SMELL OF A WET RAG. MY HUSBAND HAS MENTIONED THERE WAS A DIFFERENT BUT NOTHING BAD. BUT HE HAS HARDLY A SENSE OF SMELL IN MY OPINION HHHEELLLPPP!

Hi Dogwomen:

Sexually I think we women have got it made with all our wonderful sexual parts but this has always been a hang up to many of us....With me I used two things.....First after a shower or before I was going to have a hot session in bed with my husband I would put some Johnson's Baby Powder around my legs....Not inside the genital area but near the inner thigh creases....It really did help...Then I used Strawberry Astroglide for lubrication....This is both pleasing to smell and believe me a man does not complain about it when you are letting him have oral sex.....

Hope this helps but just be yourself....As you age it gets better and better and better and better.....Been there and done that....

Take care,
CA

vaginal odor
I stink. It has been going on for months. My son came out of the bathroom after I had used it and said "rotten crotch old woman."

will this end? i have been spotting off/on for months too. I take Yaz birth control. I'm 49. My recent labs showed <20 for estriodol levels and I have a doctor appt 2/10.

this sucks, life isn't worth living if I stink all the time. it's like i'm spraying people repellant everywhere.

I wonder if any doctors truly know what we go through as a woman, with this problem....What you say is something big.....I know....I used to live there with you.....That is until about four years ago...Then it disappeared near overnight....I believe that this pungent fish like smell come from the Skene's or Bartholin Glands being clogged....But I am guessing and only using my experience as a woman and what has happened in my life to state my findings........

You may have a yeast infection.....I have heard this said and read it written.....However,l I don't know if I go for it.....

Good luck with the doctor....

menopause smell
My fiance, says my o de love, my smell stinks badly. I went to the doctor for an exam and no infections. It is beginning to change his attraction for me. No oral sex because of it. It was becoming worse he said. I am using a femine wash and changing underwear twice a day. I am showering twice a day and changing the linen every other day now. I smell like a cheap hussy because I cannot afford to douse my self with my regualr brand of cologne. I spray my car seats. My son says they do smell. I spray my chair at work. I spray about every two hours just to make sure. I really appreciate the comments of the others to know that many others are having the same problem. what to do for a permanent cure.....

I wish I knew....Have you tried shaving?...One other thing I heard was a low estrogen level which could be thinning your vaginal canal walls...I have a estring disc inserted by myself every three months to give me daily estrogen...It is a prescription by the doctor...I use it to build up my thinning vagina...It keeps it very nice...It had thinned out and now is like youth...This is all I can think of on this....

Take care,
Caroline
