Q: Chances of pregnancy while using the Mirena IUC
asked by: DoctorQuestion on January 15th, 2009
So I have been on Mirena (IUC) for 10 months now. And during the time I have had it, my periods haven't been normal what*so*ever. Its usually spotting here and there. And then for three months I didnt have a period until, last week, I started it. well the other day I stopped bleeding and my husband and I had intercourse and he ejaculated inside me. The next day my period continued just for that day. I was just wondering can I get pregnant this way? I have heard alot of stories of women getting pregnant on the IUD/IUC. What are my chances. And also I tried to see if I could feel the Mirena strings and I couldn't feel anything.

Chances for a woman to get pregnant, while wearing the Mirena (IUC), are less than 2 %.
