I wanted to add to my recent colonoscopy question. Is it even likely that one polyp is a risk?

Have you been diagnosed with multiple polyps or single one?
Was the type of the suspected polyp confirmed?

One polyp can be a risk for colon cancer depending on its type and size.

Dont know
I am not sure because the doctor told me everything when I was coming out of sedation. When I called his office the next day to get more answers his staff said they did not have the records from the hospital yet and have failed to call me back. What I do know is.

I have a small stomach ulcer they took a biopsy of and he said there was one polyp he removed and is having biopsied. I THINK he said he thought it looked pretty much ok but wasn't sure and would have it tested. So I feel like it is probably just fine. He said it was more upsetting that I was 26 and already had one and because of how it looked and having one so oyung I would be repeating this process in 2 - 3 yrs. I just feel uneducated on my own health right now and do not want to wait three weeks.

Most of the colon polyps are benign, which means they are not cancer.
But over time, some types of polyps can turn into cancer.
Larger polyps have greater potential to develop in cancerous growth.
All polyps are removed and tested, just to be safe.
Some people are more likely to develop polyps.
Try to eat plenty of fruit and vegetables and less fatty food, don't smoke, avoid alcohol and lose weight if you're overweight.
