I got the depo shot 5 weeks after the birth of my child. I was du to go back to get my second dose of depo three months later which my appt was scheduled for December 3 2011. Well I didn't go because my bf & I split up. I then got a period starting around December 19th 2011. It ended on December 25th 2011. I had unprotected sex on January 1st 2012 in the early morning, & then on January 2, 2012 I got a lighter flowing period like bleeding until January 7th, 2012. I also had unprotected sex several times each day on January 2, 2012 through January 7th, 2012. I am just wondering is it possible to get pregnant in the above situation? & if so what are the chance I got pregnant?

Hello,

Welcome to ehealthforum

Deposhots provide contraceptive effect only if taken regularly when due.As soon as the shots are left the contraceptive effect is immediately lost so chances of pregnancy are possible in your case. Some woman can conceive immediately after leaving the shots and some may even take longer than usual.
WWait for the next periods now and if they are missed get a Urine test done and visit a Gynaecologist for evaluation.
Take care!
