Hi,

I am due to have a disc removed in my neck on 23rd of this month. They are replacing it with a prosthesis disc. I have had numerous surgeries on my jaw the last 2 being total replacement joints, so I am not new to surgery just new to this particular surgery. I had a disc removed from the bottom of my back about 11 years ago, but can't really remember the recovery time etc and I suppose this surgery will be nothing like the previous one. Also they are going in through the front of my neck to get to this disc which is scaring the living daylights out of me. Apparently your vocal cords etc are moved out of the way during this time !!! Has anyone had this type of surgery before, and if so please can they give me as much information as they can.

Thank you very much
