Q: Cervical plug when not pregnant?

I am 100% positive that I am not pregnant, and for a good majority of my life I have gotten very thick cervical plugs. What would be the cause of this? I'm not pregnant when I get them, and I've never been pregnant.

Are you certain you are experiencing cervical plugs and not heavy mucous discharges due to ovulation? I sometimes get a lot of discharge that is similar in color and consistency to egg whites, especially if I've gone off birth control and/or have not had a period for a long time. And I have never been pregnant.

Nope.
It's much thicker than that. It's more rubbery in consistency and comes out all in one big glob.

You haven't mentioned this to your gyno or doctor?

I probably should, but it doesn't affect my health and it's been going on for years. I'm 100% clean too. No STD's could be causing it or anything.

Looks like this is one for the experts. I have no idea why you're having these. Sorry I can't be more helpful.
