Q: Cervial cancer in ovaries ?

I had cervical cancer 6 years ago, had a hysterectomy, they got all of it. They removed and tested a few node that were clear. they left my ovaries. I have been having pain in my lower left pelvis, back for some time. The pain sometimes radiates at the top of my right leg. I also feel like I should be having a period, it feels crampy, like there is a band around my pelvis squeezing. I do suffer from ovarian cysts on occasion. This pain is constant, different degrees but always there. Does anyone know if cervical cancer can reoccur in the ovaries?
Thanks

Cervical cancer does not reoccur in the ovaries. Ovarian cancer is a totally separate issue. Have you been continuing to get your pap smears? Cervical cancer has been known to come back on the vaginal wall.

You should see your doctor about what you are experiencing.

I have had lower back and pelvic pain for the last 8 months, and sex is sometimes painful, i have just encountered some blood spotting which occured after sex.

I have also had runny stools for the last 2weeks.

could I have Cervical Cancer?

Have you been keeping up on your pap smears? Cervical cancer should not be the first thing to consider but you should visit your doctor whenever you have an extended time of painful intercourse with spotting.

Good luck!

Thank you Mable, Yes I am up to date with my paps. I dont know why I did not think of having one first. Becuase I have 3 MRI, CT, Ultra sound and a Lapraoscopy in 2008, Nothing! As am at my wits end now, as every time my cylce is due I am dibilitated and confined to my bed for at least 2 days.

Sometimes sex is painful, but the last few times I have found it very painful indeed and Yesterday I had bleeding (spotting) and today the same. Last month (May) I had a painful cycle but no loss of blood. My cycle is due in the next 10 days, so I will wait and see if how that goes.

But I am slighty worried as all the sytoms posted on the site I have....Smell from vagina (although washed 2-3 times daily, lower back pain, pain in the leg and groin area, and last but not least spotting.

I dont understand why my doctor did not recommend doing a pap.
Thanks for the reply, I will keep you updated!

Really it sounds like it could be an infection with the smell, pain and bleeding - along with the lower back pain.

Maybe, but I do think it is highly unlikely, becuase I have had severe back ache and intense pain with my cycle for the last 8 months now, and pain with sex, and the last time me and my partner had sex was Tuesday, which was painful, that he had to stop, which was then followed by bleeding some 2 hours later.

The smell is not awful like bacterial vaginosis, it's more of a bo type menstrual bleeding smell, and is there even after I have come out of the bath.

So I suspect it is more than an infection at this point.

Well, you can have back pain and pain during sex with infection too. I'm a little confused why that wouldn't be the doctor's first thought as opposed to MRI (expensive), CT scan and lap. I'm going to assume with the lap that they were looking for endometriosis?

Generally the easiest, quickest, cheapest test is done first. IE, vaginal exam, pap, etc.

Yes, I have had Endometriosis previously, which is why the lap was done to establish if it had come back. They found some new fibroids, but they say they are to small to be causing the amount of pain that I am having.

MRI, was given to establish that I had not slipped a disk or damage to my spine, but what the radiologist did not do ( which I find very suprising was to scan the lower spinal cord and pelvic area, which would have given them a clear insight, yes I agree MRI are expensive, but so is the Tax NI i pay every month. Bottom line Mabel is, I have been suffering for 8 whole months and signed off work because of this problem and I just want to get to the bottom of it.Pain killers is not the answer, as it is not treating the symtom, which remains a mystery to the very top consultant's.

Never mind I will attempt to have the pap tomoro!

Thanks for your support.
