I don't know how I will get tested for HTLV where I live, cause the dr.'s, and nurses that I have talked too said that they haven't heard of HTLV, and told me to be careful of what I read online, cause most of them are fake. So, if you can't get a dr. or a clinic to believe you that HTLV is real, than how are you going to get them to test you tony? When you donate blood, they test you for HTLV before they use it in someone else

Right, but I can get an HTLV test from a doctor, it's a standard blood test. That is better than giving other people what we have through the blood supply.

Dalton76 this is a classic example of the level of negligence HTLV-1 has past 40 years within the medical and International scientfic community. This is caz HIV receives all attention in international scientfic community no one is bothered about HTLV which is marked similar to HIV but negleted.

My doctor wasent aware if HTLV is sexually transmitted. He didnt knew how it is transmitted even. All he said was the good thing with HTLV is i dont have to worry for next 30 years to get any serious problems. Really? but that isint the case, Have seen people getting serious health problems within 5,6 after diagnosis. Also if it is so rare why do we have more than 25mm people living with this virus.

With regard to your testing hope you will be able to find a doctor in your country who is aware of HTLV virus and can help with screening.

Hello everyone,

Depressedman, congratulations on your negative test results, syphilis thank god is treatable IF you happen to have it which you probably don't. I'm to still having an irritated throat, dark stools, and tender lymph nodes. This has got to be some kind of bacterial infection. No need to further test for HIV past 3 months you are conclusively negative. But if you want continue to test for piece of mind no matter what anyone else says do what's best for you. Let us know how your syphilis test turns out Good Luck.

donefor, congratulations on your test result, BUT like I said test at 13 weeks for your conclusive result. Also like I advised Depressedman test as long as you want if it makes you feel better no matter what ANYONE tells you there's nothing like piece of mind. Best wishes.

Ustas, hang in there my friend the test will be negative I know it.

Dalton76, I say to hell with it and let's go to a blood bank and get tested for it. If something's in our blood they will find it and not use it anyway. How you think these people find out they have diseases they donate blood and that's how they find out. That's also how most of the people who have HTLV find out they have it. Trust me if something's in your blood that's life threatening they WILL find it I don't care what ANYONE says do I will never ever try to tell you something that will that will harm someone else and will always say do what's best for you.

TonyDewitt, stop trying to be so bossy towards everyone, this forum was going smoothly till you came on here with your know it all attitude. I respect the fact that you brought up the HTLV thing good thinking. But everyone here obviously did something they wish they hadn't done including yourself or we wouldn't be here on this forum. Something's not right with us and we are all scared out of our minds wondering if we have something life threatening or not. We are all here to comfort and support one another not bash each other or make each other feel bad for continuing to test, it's piece of mind. Hell your so wrapped up in this HTLV thing and you haven't even been tested for it yet. So don't go bashing people for testing for HIV multiple times because the last time I checked this is a certain HIV positive forum, and if you don't like it start your own HTLV forum, a virus you haven't even been tested for yet.

That doesn't make any sense Tony, you always talk about HTLV, but yet you never got tested for it....Why?? If you were that concerned about HTLV, and than you would get tested for it as well....

Thanks uk_worry, I hope your right about it. I have an appointment with my neurologist on Monday he had me do an MRI because of the light headedness and dizziness I've been experiencing for the past 7 or 8 months. I'll find out the results on Monday. Also my urologist did a ultrasound on my kidneys and said that I had a lot of cysts in my right kidney but the left one didn't. He also did a cat scan on my stomach because I told him about the pains in my sides my spleen and liver area. They called me and told me the scan was negative that everything looked good. He said my problem wasn't urological and said to follow up with my dr. for my pains. I called my dr. And told them all this now he's referring me to a G. I. Specialist so well see what he says. I just don't get this all these problems but the tests arent picking anything up. I'll keep you and everyone else posted about this. I hope all is well with you , take care my friend.

So, if we have sex with someone that has hiv , and their getting treated for it, and if we get tested it'll show up negative, cause it can't be detected all because their getting treated for it?????? I'm cofused, but that's the way I understood it on that website. The treatment lowers the hiv in their blood, makeing it hard to be detected

Hey guys, any updates?

I've pretty much narrowed it down to HTLV, HSV1 and HSV2, or HPV what do you think guys. I got retested for syphilis and HIV should know the results in about a week it's been over 6 months now this throat thing is really worrying me I'm praying it's not throat cancer. My E.N.T. Dr. Said it was mucus in the back of my throat but Im not buying it I feel like I'm not getting anywhere with these drs.

Good luck everyone,
