read my story my friend,
i did more than 15 hiv tests till now, ( after 14 month )
the last one was 10 days ago, before travelling.. same result, negative..
my current symptoms: Muscles spasm, severe neuropathy even my teeth nerves are hurting big time !,esophagitis, swollen lymph node under jaw, recurrence rash (pink color) on my chest back and arms
burning joints and spine and chest, vibration in my legs

the only alternative test which might help in HIV diagnoses Along with antibodies and antigens tests is the CD4 CD8 test and total lymphocytes, the CD4 count and % is the best indicator.. folowed by total lymphocytes count, order this test each 3 to 4 months.. and compare it
Keep in mind that stress might lower your cd4 so TL are a good indicator
if its not HIV, then its either Autoimmune disease, CMV OR EBV

our immune system work in a very complex way..
as i mentioned above, yes CMV could be the direct reason or indirect by activating what we call autoimmune disease, but at same time, we should monitor the CD4+ count and percentage( PERCENTAGE IS MORE ACCURATE THAN THE COUNT ) and Total lymphocytes count ( not the normal lymphocytes in CBC)
AND pealse try as many HIV tests in more than one medical center (elisa, cmia, 3rd and 4th generation test, additional to PCR RNA and DNA as well hiv1 and hiv2 )
and make sure that you dont have any immunodeficiency disorder, or not taking any immunesuppressing or cancer drugs

your CMV igg number pls ?
dont forget that cmv belongs to Herpes Virus Family

I want to note that in the previous test (before the one in october) cd4 cd8 ratio was less than one and I went on to eat black seed twice daily and the ratio in the next test was higher than one and cd8 cells decreased

Dear i just want you to calm down since stress affect your cd4 count..
its really frustrating what we are facing.. ( everyone in this forum )
but what i can say is that the drop in your CD4 %( please provide also the cd4 count and the total lymphocytes count)is alarming and its crucial to figure out the reason ASAP with your doctor,( if he recommend satring ART/ HAART)
but i can share with you an article, showing that low cd4 count might be caused by many many viral & bactirial infections and not limited to HIV.
Now, share with us please your symptoms and how these numbers are affecting your health.
I recommend you to retest again after 2 weeks (end of Jan2017)just to know how your immune system is working and please try to refrain from taking black seeds, just to read right your numbers..

1- do you have or had any STI ?
2- are you testing in the same medical center or with the same testing technology and methods ?
3- what was your exposure and any information regarding your partner std status and ?
4- your symptoms from day 1 after the exposure till today
5-again, yout total lymphocytes count
did you checked your HLA antigens, this might be helpful..
please try to go through this article, its old but rich in information

My current status is as follows
I tested for hiv antibody before one week and the result was negative. Also from june 2016 to septembet 2016 I lost around 10 kgs so I started to take black seeds and my weight started to stabilize but on the first of november I took a zentel tablet and I stopped losing weight (I dont know how a worm tablet could stop me from losing weight and stop the pressure on my brain)
Now my weight is stabilized I have no lymph nodes whatsover but sometimes I feel unwell especially concentrating I dont know if I need to take a zental tablet again because it helped ease my symptoms on two occasion on november and on december but what concerns me is that this tablet is used as an off label use for one of hiv infections. So here is the status my friend and best regards.

Dear, based on what you took Zentel ?
what is confusing in your case is, the fast drop in your CD4 count.. without any evidence of HIV infection
again( its not limited to hiv )

did you tested negative for all STDs ?
Did you encounter any arthritis pain, esophagitis, rash?

it's really essential to retest every 3 months(CD4/CD8 and Total lymphocytes),every 2 months for HIV antibodies test using multiple testing methods and providers,

you didnt share your Total Lymphocytes Count
so we can read the big picture of your results

did you test for any HLA antigens ?

yes you're right, i misread your above post..

the 36% is considered just on the edge of min normal value, and your CD4 count are normal!

Something's wrong with your IS, based on your cd4/cd8 ratio.
in healthy individual, CD4 count should be greater than CD8.
when CD8 exceed CD4 count means that your immmune system is fighting an infection..

i suggest to repeat hiv test using multiple methods and brands/provider along with other std, even if you tested negative
btw, i didn't test positive for hsv1 until 8 months post exposure, bfore that, all my results cameback negative,( at 7 monts mark )

hsv window period tend to be longer than other std..

Regarding cd4 count test, please try to repeat the test 3 months post your latest test.

I know its probably hiv and I want to get medicated as what you said when cd4 cd8 ratio is less than one it could be hiv but the problem is all the tests I done show a negative result so what can I do except on keep on testing but I will find a good doctor whom iam comfortable with who can get me out of this mess

and it could be something else also, i agree that you should work with an infectious disease specialist,

dear you are far beyond the window period,
the only possible way is that we ( cause my case is similar to yours) are infected by a new strain(s) or rare subgroup

again, its not limited to hiv, please go back to your normal life, the only way to find out is to keep on testing as i mentioned in earlier post.

usualy, infectious disease dont request CD4 test unless you are experiencing a "per book" hiv symptoms and u've been exposed to what is called high risky exposure(unprotected receptive anal with unknown hiv person status or any vaginal & anal exposure with known hiv+ person)
well, all i can say is whatever gonna be our results, the lesson learned is never engage in any unprotected sexual behavior,
please keep me updated

Update. I sent off for a free HIV test one that you post your blood sample. I had exactly the same test a year ago and the result was negative coi 0.275 this time negative coi 0.311 not much difference in the number but it is higher, not sure of the significance of this...

Also saw a Dr on Tuesday for a full blood workup of inflammatory markers CD4 and CD8 ratio etc. My last CD4 ratio was red flagged a year ago. If it has declined anymore I will know for sure that this is HIV...

Dr says nothing to worry about - easy for him to say.

Dear Justamatteroftime,
those numbers are meaningless as long your result is negative,
you will never have same coi values of two test on the same day
and i'm quiet sure that the new CD4/CD8 ratio will not be worse
fingers crossed, keep us posted

Well, heres my story

Penetrative sex with Asian prostitute, condom broke.

Symtoms were definetly "Per book" Hiv symptoms:

After 4 days i started getting severe burning sensation on my neck and arm pits along with chills and night sweats, lymph nodes in neck and groin (Visible when you look at them, you can clearly see groin area swollen in one side when just looking down).

These continued up to week 5.

In Day 39, i was walking and suddenly felt blured eyes, when i say blurred vision i mean i literly couldnt see anything it was blurred and my body temp increased noticebly for like a few minutes (really really weird).

The next day, Day 40 up to day 50 i got hit with these symptoms:
-Diarhea
-Fever (was low, never measured it but i would guess around 37.5 to 38c max but who knows).
-Sore throat.
-Back ached and aches in legs.
-Reddish like rash below eyes and neck.
-Big pimple like spots pink in color in torso area maybe around 3 or 4.
-Weird red bumps in side of neck.
-2 Large canker sores in upper gums in hard platel (around 1cm). Not sure if these were canker sores as to be honest they wasnt very painful.
-I lost around 12 Kg of weight during the first 2 months.

Tested up to 8 month and half with different kind of tests, combo ag/ab, normal elisa, PCR, maybe total around 30 test because i was 100% sure its HIV due to symptoms. But guess what? All are Negative.

Current symptoms:
-Chronic diarhea for almost 9 months
-oral thrush and i think also in penis (too many white spots), i tested postive for candida albicans igg, igm and iga.
-elevated and marked as high CMV and EBV IGG, Negative IGM.
-Many pimples in back, butt, legs, chest (with hair in middle) which i read is called follecuts something like that.

So now im sure its not HIV-1, but now im 100% sure its either HIV-2 or a new strain.

Doctors will tell you hiv2 is rare and only confined in Africa and this is total BS. People, we are talking about sex workers, everyday all types of people from all parts of the world have sex with them, so saying its rare and not possible is total bull crap and desnt make sence anymore.

And when CDC says 3-6 months conclusive, they mean for HIV-1 only, Hiv-2 is not studied at all and there are a few cases with very long window period.

Did you guys get tested with dedicated HIV-2 test? I really dont trust the test they have now which test all types in One (Hiv1/2 and O).

Any one tested for dedicated HIV-2 test? Anyone have elevated CMV and EBV IGG both?

Will give one more test at 10 month mark will see how it goes.
