get tested for MDS (pre-leukemia)
Dalton,

You don't have HIV - after 3 months of testing negative, that was a done deal. HTLV is real, and it does make you sick, especially in the beginning. They don't have drugs to treat it (unlike the 30 drugs for HIV), they just treat the symptoms. The best advice I can give you is to get tested for MDS (a pre-leukemia), which is a test for a "clonal" population of T-cells. If you test positive for MDS, you can be treated with Azacytidine (Vidaza), which cured a patient in Greece of HTLV after 8 months. To me, that's much better than spending the rest of your life suffering with HTLV.

Best wishes.

That guy is getting all of my posts banned!
That guy is getting all of my posts banned! Someone please help! He sent me an email telling me not to post here anymore, and to go to another site! That appears to be a violation of the guidelines:

Please refrain from assuming authority over other members in any way. Do not tell others what to post, when to post, where to post, how to post, or why to post. Only Moderators have authority and decision-making control in health forums. Users who assume authority will be issued a reminder. Continued disrespect of this guideline may lead to account closure.

Can someone please talk to this guy about assuming authority over me in his email?

I hope this includes the email that I received from another user telling me to not post here, and to go to another site - I do believe that violates the guidelines.

Thank you.

Worriesick100, welcome to the forum, first of all let me make this clear if what your saying is true you DO NOT have HIV your 13 week negative test is conclusive PERIOD end of story. Now as for your symptoms have you been tested for hsv1 and hsv2? Hepb? Hepc? Syphilis? CMV? EBV? Also do a E.S.R. Blood test this checks for autoimmune diseases. I know believe me I know we are all fast to blame everything on HIV why not with all the symptoms. You have to believe your tests and accept the fact that you are HIV NEGATIVE! Which is a good thing. Also get checked for hpv as well. Believe me I know EXACTLY how you feel man trust me do these other test and let us know how they turn out Good Luck!

Dalton, congrats on your test, time to let HIV go that's for sure. As far as the lump in the throat I'm to still experiencing that as well 6 months later. I went to my E.N.T. Dr yesterday they did a videoscopy of my throat they didn't see any lumps but said it looked inflamed. He said he didn't think it was a fungal infection because it would be a different kind of redness. He gave me some allergy medication to try supposed to go back in 3 weeks.

By the way everyone, I got my 26 week home access test result back today it was NEGATIVE thank god. I'm going in on Tuesday to get tested for HTLV 1 and 2.

Worriesick100,

Scared49 is right - you DO NOT have HIV your 13 week negative test is conclusive PERIOD.

Scared49,

I have the same lump in my throat, I believe that it's caused by HTLV's wasting of muscle tissue everywhere in the body. A guy on the POZ site is complaining of the same thing. Good luck on your test and let me know how it goes.

DoneFor,

Same situation as you - whatever it is we all have seem to have similar symptoms, so if it's not HTLV, then I don't know. Ustas and I had jaw pain that resulted in a large bump on both of our faces.

Hi scared49,

I've been tested for everything and then went to my gp who sent me for an esr blood test and immunoglobulin test..... Esr was fine but I was showing high levels of iGg and ImM which I understand points to chronic long term diseases such as HIV/aids.

I'm thinking about going to a private clinic for a test that looks for the virus instead of antibodys just to ease my mind, maybe they can tell me more about my symptoms and rarer subtypes as the clinic I went to could not show me anything in writing and I'm worried the tests will only detect common types.

I'm sorry if I'm going on and on guys and I know I should be ecstatic at 13 weeks but I know something odd is happening, I'm no doctor but i 100% have had all possible symptoms.

After 3 months testing HIV antibody negative, you're HIV-
Worriedsick100,

After 3 months testing HIV antibody negative, you're conclusively HIV negative. At this point, you should consider HTLV and other infections.

DoneFor,

PCR testing is not going to help you - it is often false positive, which could give you more anxiety. Taking the 3 month HIV antibody test is the gold standard, after that, you are truly HIV negative.

But what bout the rest of the guys out here wouldn't it help them they have already been tested over 3 months if the DNA test looks for the virus its self then they'll truly know they don't have it. I read that it was very accurate

The three month HIV antibody test is conclusive. If you are still experiencing symptoms after that, test for HTLV and other infections.

Casper, when was your latest test for syphilis? Read about this I didn't realize but this infection can cause a lot of problems if left untreated, and can take a few months to detect it. I'm gonna get tested for it again.

What other infections? HTLV, HCV, HBV, EBV, CMV, Parvo, etc.
What other infections? HTLV, HCV, HBV, EBV, CMV, Parvo, etc. Did this forum give you the impression that HIV is the only virus in the world? If so, that's insane!
