I'm glad I found this forum, hoping you can help me make sense of this. I'd appreciate if you take the time to read my post.

Here are my symptoms:

Acute phase (first 3 months)

Herpangina-like illness in mouth (sores on roof of mouth and back of throat)
Easy bruising - especially after taking blood
Transient symmetrical maculopapular rash on chest, stomach, upper thighs and inner forearms
Flu-like symptoms - night sweats, fatigue, lack of appetite, loss of 20 pounds
Onset of facial fat loss at 11 weeks after initial symptoms - after 8 months I barely look like the same person - fat loss preceded by sinus-like pain
Loss of fat in buttocks - pants that were once tight are now baggy to the point they almost fall off
Patches of varicosities (varicose veins) on right side of upper abdomen
Swollen lymph nodes in groin and armpits
White "scars" on hands and forearms
Yellow hands and face - on and off
Major abdominal pain mainly around the ribs and belly button - covering all quadrants of abdomen

After 3 months

Facial wasting continues - seems to accelerate if I drink alcohol
Jaundice has extended to my arms and legs - is on and off
Fungal rash over entire body remains (started in 4th or 5th week) - responded to topical antifungal cream but came back
Hard bump on hard palate and swollen hamulus bones on both sides of roof of mouth
Swollen lymph nodes in inner lips and cheeks
Eyelashes have grown to twice normal length

The scariest part of this is I had no risk exposure. After I started noticing symptoms in myself, my fiance, brother, mother, co-workers, friends, family members and just about everyone I see on a regular basis has caught it. I live in a major city in the developed world.

Timeline below is based on time from onset of symptoms.

Tests

HIV 4th Gen at 3 months - Negative
Syphilis, Gonhorrea, Chlamydia - Negative at 2 months
Hep A - Negative at 2 months
Hep B and C - Negative at 3 months
Hep C - Negative at 5 months
EBV - Neg at 5 months
CBC normal at 3 and 5 months
Strep throat swab negative

The only thing that was found was a minor B12 deficiency (several people around me who have developed the same symptoms have also developed a B12 deficiency).

The only things I can think of at this point after tons of research are Parvovirus B19, Hepatitis E (consistent with casual contact spread), Hep C (need PCR test), HTLV (cannot find a list of symptoms anywhere but this thread), or mycoplasma florentans (suspected as the cause of AIDS initially in the 1980s).

Everything seems to point to HIV, right down to the B12 deficiency and long eyelashes, but it has never been known to transmit this way, and I've tested negative.

I read a study showing that there have been people in the past who tested positive on an HIV PCR test and took up to 4 years to test positive on an antibody test. This is more common in people coinfected with Hep B or C (i.e., contracted Hep and HIV at the same time). This is why I feel an RNA test for Hep C and HIV is necessary at this point (despite the fact I have contracted this illness from a surface or the air).

Has anyone out there been tested for Hep E, mycoplasma florentans, or Parvovirus B19?

Meant to say Mycoplasma Fermentans.

Also forgot a few symptoms.

Acute Stage
Tingling and pain in bottom of left foot (peripheral neuropathy) bad enough to cause a limp. Now gone.
Vertigo.

Rash was symmetrical early on. If there was a spot on my right leg, there was an identical spot on my left leg in the same place (for example).

zero123; man im really sorry to hear about your illness,it sounds terrible, I had flu like symptoms, an nite sweats, an currently have general swelling under arms an groin, never any rashes nor the other symptoms you have mentioned, whatever it is im feel for you, thats a lot to deal with, could the sores in your mouth be a continuation of the rash that's on the chest an legs? sounds like it,has a doctor seen you in current condition with the rash? what does the rash look like?is it like red or pink pinpricks? or purple an blocky ? where you live have you checked with the hospital for others who may have this condition? have folks in the general area only be infected? could this be caused by some chemical? has there been a spill you are unaware of? have to do some csi work in your area first I think? check with hospitals,an city heads to maybe help.could this have come from your job? just throwing some ideas out there, it wouldn't be from food or water? hope this helps, many diseases have the same symptoms,so its very hard to pin point an a lot of people will get only some of the symptoms while others many more, because everyones body handle these things differently.you said you did not have a exposure,to a std,so that opens this up to many other illnesses. I WISH you the best, rider

As time goes by, I see my parents' faces changing and getting very similar to mine, with dark circle eyes and a fatigues expression. They were so young-looking and in good shape 1 year ago. Damn virus, I hope somebody will find the way to kill you.

To all the Doctors who initially labeled me as crazy: I hope you'll never have something to do with a similar disease, although you might need to experience something like that to truly understand the suffering of millions of people on this Planet.

I hope you guys are doing 'ok'.

Here, life goes on. As my physical conditions are kinda improving, I'm actively looking for a new job… difficult task, damn Italian recession…. I'm looking for a job close to my parents' place cuz I don't feel like going to live by myself anymore.

All the best.

I happen to only peek with minutes i have to occasional posts here. So i do not even know if its been discussed previously (pardon) and i cannot dwell longer in previous pp. But passing by something i read on spirulina use a few yrs back on YA also, i heard its part of the regimen of those recovering from autoimmune diseases, as diabetics also who they previously said have no cure, but ppl are in fact getting well now. This is what one said, and say what you also have experienced if any?
Best Answer: Spirulina has changed my life. It has been my main source of protein in the last 4 weeks, and the benefits are absolutely amazing. I could see every tissue in my body getting healthier and looking younger the more I take it. Most people are misguided to think that you should only take about 6 capsules(or a teaspoon) of spirulina or so, but this is totally untrue. The more of this stuff you take the better results you'll obtain. I recommend buying the powder by the pound, and then mixing 2-4 spoons of it with soy milk or any other desired drink twice a day. Heres the best source and cheapest price of it available on the internet- ---... Heres another algae you should learn about if you like spirulina, its called chlorella. Chlorella is a green algae similar to spirulina because of its dense nutrition, but it has more benefits in the regenerative aspect of health.

Its best to mix chlorella and spirulina so that you get all the phytonutrients you need. If you are going to do this, make sure to use a 2 to 1 ratio, meaning twice the amount of spirulina than chlorella.
These are the two most nutritiously potent foods on the planet, and if you take them both everyday, you'll be the the healthiest person you know!
Just a concerned reader seeing ur few posts in this thread.

whoknows1;how are you, I have same symptoms, with the exception of back pain an I have very mild fatigue, but as jammy states you never know what your going to get from day to day with this, can change, quickly, yes I do believe the weather makes a big difference, I live in a cold climate an the winters are very hard, now that spring has come everything is better, ever ones mood, which really does make a big difference in how you feel an cope with this, otherwise I have same symptoms currently as you, an I can add swollen lymphnodes under arms an groin an ringing ears as well. those two symptoms suck, also have dry skin as well, but its better with season change. stay in touch an let us know how you are doing,we are all trying to work together to figure out what this is we believe its a retrovirus? but no one certain, everyone here has had a lot of testing an doctor visits, an no positive test results,so the more input we receive the better,I think the general mood here has been better, one thing for sure you live in a wonderful place there down under!

no worries, my GP didn't say 'you have lupus'. She just said that many of my symptoms (she looked at the pics I took w/my phone) reminded her of Rheumatological Diseases, which makes sense since they're usually triggered by infections.

I guess having a proper diagnosis will be very tough; I actually gave up looking for a diagnosis.

Hi all. Does anyone have receding gum issues? Seems an issue with me. Eyes slightly improved & leg twitch still present though not as frequent, back pain only on occasions. Weight steady at 12 stone 5 to 12.7. Though no muscle increase. Bowel movements awful. Been onto HTLV aware on twitter & also National Centre for Human Retrovirology at the Imperial Hospital London about symptoms. They are the lead for HTLV in the UK. Both state test at 6 months for HTLV would pick up antibodies... High spec / sens . Apart from that been transferred to infectious disease consultant at my hospital who deal with ID but also CFS which I believe is a cop out! Appt sent out while I was away and on return I'd missed it, so now have to wait till June.. Sleep also a big issue. Wake at 4am most mornings & struggle to get back off. Bags under my eyes ain't good.

Hi Scared,

I'm sorry to say that I have all of your symptoms (although kind of mild right now).

Please try Ubiquinol (powerful version of CoQ10) for receding gums, together with high dosage Vit. C. It should work good.

Scared,

forgot to say that Australian natives used to be HTLV-carriers. Apparently this is one of the 'endemic' regions. But I'm in Italy and I've the same issues, so I guess this thing is everywhere - not sure what it is yet, but it mimics HTLV very well and in any case, this is the perfect representation of what living a hell on Earth would be like.

J,

Other native endemic carriers include natives of Japan (who are not Japanese), North American Indians, tribes in Africa and in South American. So basically the virus is everywhere. I would say that exposure in Italy would be due to the proximity to Africa.

Best wishes.

Top Virologists of the Global Virus Network (GVN) Meet in China to Address Threats

The Addition of Two GVN Centers of Excellence Strengthen GVN’s Worldwide Reach

Baltimore, Maryland, USA, May 11, 2015: The Global Virus Network (GVN), a coalition of the world’s leading medical virology research centers working together to prevent illness and death from viral disease, in partnership with Beijing University of Technology, a GVN Center of Excellence, will host its 7th meeting of top virologists May 16-19, 2015 in Beijing, China. The announcement was made today by Robert Gallo, MD, GVN Co-Founder and Scientific Director, Yi Zeng, MD, PhD, GVN China’s Center of Excellence Director and Sharon Hrynkow, PhD, GVN President. They also announced the addition of two new GVN Centers of Excellence including the University at Buffalo (UB), State University of New York (SUNY), USA and the Centre de Recerca en Sanitat Animal (CReSA), Barcelona, Spain. Since its founding in 2011, GVN has grown to include 34 Centers of Excellence in 24 countries, comprising expertise in all classes of human viruses.

“I am pleased to join my friend and colleague, Professor Yi Zeng, in hosting this important meeting as these personal, face-to-face interactions among our colleagues are integral to sharing information and inspiring international collaborations that otherwise might not exist,” said Dr. Robert Gallo, Director of the Institute of Human Virology at the University of Maryland School of Medicine, a GVN Center of Excellence. “China has been involved with GVN from the very inception, and Professor Yi Zeng has been and continues to be a valued and honored GVN leader as well as a member of the Scientific Leadership Board, which reviews all prospective Centers.“

“China is honored to host this meeting of the GVN,” said Professor Yi Zeng, Honorary Dean at the College of Life Sciences and Bioengineering at Beijing University of Technology and Chief Scientist and Professor at the Institute of Viral Diseases Control and Prevention China, a GVN Center of Excellence. “We are committed to working closely with our colleagues at the GVN and strengthening ties with the internationally renowned scholars who comprise the network.”

Members of the GVN will exchange ideas on viruses including HPV and Esophageal Carcinoma, Hepatitis, HIV/AIDS, emerging viruses, Measles, MERS, Dengue, Chikungunya, HTLV, Influenza, Hemorrhagic Fever viruses - including Ebola, among other viruses, and viral diagnostics. Other prominent virologists participating in the meeting include Dianne Griffin, MD, PhD of GVN’s Center of Excellence at Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health, USA, who is a renowned measles expert and Ab Osterhaus, DVM, PhD, of GVN’s Center of Excellence at University of Veterinary Medicine, Germany, who is a renowned coronavirus expert (SARS, MERS). They will discuss many viral challenges China shares with other nations, including the rise of measles and the threat of coronaviruses.

“We are honored to be hosted in China, where the tradition of supporting virology in China is strong and the tradition of international cooperation stronger still,” said Dr. Sharon Hrynkow, President of the GVN ”This meeting in China paves the way for onward collaborations and strengthening of our global safety net against viral disease threats. It is the first time that the GVN has met outside of the U.S. or Europe, and we are delighted to be in Asia.”

The GVN is an essential and critical defense against viral disease. It is a coalition comprised of world renowned virologists, all working to advance knowledge about how viruses cause disease, to develop drugs and vaccines to prevent illness and death, and to train the next generation of virus researchers. GVN is the only institution in the world that has expertise in all classes of human viruses.

Inflammatory response of endothelial cells to a human endogenous retrovirus associated withmultiple sclerosis is mediated by TLR4.
Duperray A, Barbe D, Raguenez G, Weksler BB, Romero IA, Couraud PO, Perron H, Marche PN.
Abstract

The MSRV (Multiple Sclerosis Associated Retro Virus) belongs to the human endogenous retrovirus HERV-W family.

The envelope protein originating from the MSRV has been found in most patients with multiple sclerosis (MS). This protein (Env-ms) has pro-inflammatory properties for several types of immune cells and could therefore play a role in MS pathogenesis by promoting the leukocyte diapedesis observed in the central nervous system of patients.

Our study aims to analyze the effects of Env-ms on the blood-brain barrier (BBB) at a molecular and functional level. We demonstrate that the recombinant MSRV envelope is able to stimulate several inflammatory parameters in a human BBB in vitro model, the HCMEC/D3 brain endothelial cell line. Indeed, Env-ms induces overexpression of ICAM-1, a major mediator of leukocyte adhesion to endothelial cells, in a dose-dependent manner as well as a strong dose-dependent production of the pro-inflammatory cytokines IL-6 and IL-8.

Furthermore, using a silencing approach with siRNAs, we show that Env-ms is recognized via the TLR4 receptor, a pattern recognition receptor of innate immunity present on endothelial cells. We also show using functional assays, that treatment of brain endothelial cells with Env-ms significantly stimulated the adhesion and the transmigration of activated immune cells through a monolayer of endothelial cells.

These findings support the hypothesis that MSRV could be involved in the pathogenesis of MS disease or at least in maintenance of inflammatory conditions, thus fueling the auto-immune disorder. MSRV could also play a role in other chronic inflammatory diseases.

Comments & Post by Neuro Doc Gnanapavan

The cause of MS has long been debated in the scientific and clinical arena. The popular held hypothesis til now has been that circulating immune cells in the blood cross into the brain via the blood-brain barrier (BBB) setting off a chain of events that results in demyelination, axonal loss etc
.
The discovery of the retroviral element MSRV in the cerebrospinal fluid of an MS patient challenges this view. Several lines of investigation (outlined in the abstract above) now indicate that MSRV and its envelope protein (Env-ms) can trigger/activate inflammatory cells across the BBB, i.e. MS is a disease from within the brain.

The recruitment of activated immune cells across the BBB endothelial cells is the critical step in triggering inflammation and the course of MS.

The investigators point out that Env-ms acts as a superantigen and activates the vascular BBB endothelium and the innate immunity (circulating monocytes, microglial, dendritic cells etc.) via the TLR4/CD14 pathway leading to inflammation in the brain (see figure below).

I say let the debate begin...But on a more ergonomic route I'm sure some biotechnologist/pharmacologist can come up with a way of interfering with the Env-ms/TLR4 pathway, say a specific anti-Env-ms neutralizing antibody??!

Btw, did u ever consider water therapy as part of your search for healing. I know steam, or warm compresses are very simple remedies ppl often overlook, like for body pains. Because of its simplicity... and we're so used to looking for new, high tech cures, no offense meant. Some take like a glass of water every hour for a few days or weeks, but no more than a liter each time as that isnt good either. There are various techniques and explanations u can explore. When taking natural tabs like spirulina for ex., the naturopath's advise is always with warm water as it aids in absorption greatly. Its also taken after meals, right.

A doctor in Japan had hypothesized that whole-body hyperthermia might cure HTLV. One of our forum members travelled all the way to Russia to get this done, but it did not help.

Best wishes.

TR,

It would be great if existing or future treatments for HIV worked on other retroviruses, but those need to be tested on a case by case basis, and since no one cares about "other retroviruses", we will have to do our own testing.

Best wishes.

Oh, now i lost part of the reply for typing w/o loggin in first, anyway, once i read something on water in lungs and found something from curezone abt a Dr. otoman-Zar... (long name). Like that turkish scholar in The Little Prince book, he perhaps needs to wear coat and tie to be listened to, or i cannot really tell but if patients were being healed...? Thoght if i'd pm or just post parts here for easier discussion.. so here:

For the people that do not want to read, refuse to read, they will be forever victims of those folks into "marketing"...the marketing of health products is nothing but a fancy name given to con men.

taken from the winter (last) newsletter:

Distilled Water Pressure “Internally”
Warning: This water is for your home made distilled water “only”. This prescription can not work with well water, city water or any other source of water except “pure” water known as steam “distilled”.

Dr. Otoman Zar-Adusht Hanish M.D. prescribed his patients this distilled water prescription that he believed would cure all diseases and correct all weight issues too fat and too thin when done correctly. It goes like this:

1. On awakening take two glasses.
2. Another two glasses shortly before breakfast.
3. Two glasses in the middle of the morning.
4. Two more 20-30 minutes before mid-day meal.
5. Two glasses in the middle of the afternoon.
6. Another two glasses 20-30 minutes before dinner.
7. The last two glasses in the evening shortly before retiring.

If desired, two more portions may be taken - one, two hours after lunch and another two hours after dinner. For nerve and Liver troubles the water should be taken quite hot. This M.D. believed this to be the cure for all human ailments and weight problems. This is a prescription not open to be “altered” as desired if you desire to experience what this M.D. learned in his lifetime. Each 2 glasses of water must weight 16 ounces (1 pound) in order to work correctly, so he was using 8 ounce glasses in his clinic.
This prescription was for 21 days on, 21 days off for normal health situations. For cancers and serious diseases, he prescribed 3-4 months non stop. He also prescribed a 48 hour fast at the beginning of the water cure for all cancers, stating cancer was caused by an accumulation of toxins in the blood stream and suggested cleaning the colon daily during the water treatment for cancers.

Once healed, the M.D. the suggested fruit juices could be used to nourish the body. This long past M.D. also used some herbs and vegetables too many to mention in this newsletter.

Distilled Water Pressure “Internally” with / Garlic
A Japanese M.D. many years ago searching for a cure for cancer, had his patients smash a clove of garlic and wrap it in some rice paper and swallow it directly after every meal with 2 glasses of water. He believed the stomach must be so damaged and “shriveled” up before cancer / disease can develop and drinking 2 full glasses of water directly after each meal, was his method to “expand” the dieing stomach and used garlic as a sulfur source, blood thinner and method to increase circulation in the stomach. This same M.D. later learned how to put his cancer patients inside a special made chamber he designed and spray the patient’s entire body with fresh garlic juice. I will show an advanced method of this same theory in my Air Therapy chapter. Though these medical doctors had their own methods, they often were learning a similar “theory” and sadly most doctors do not live long enough to learn and perfect their methods and thankfully they wrote books so the future generations could try to understand what they spent their entire lifetime self-experimenting with. We do not see many doctors today seeking to heal the stomach as the first line of cure. One of the greatest German medical doctors many years ago believed the stomach was the only path back to health and suggested 6 months of rest and controlled “fasting” as a way to “Heal Thy Stomach”.

There, say looks like i overcopied that for cancer too, but i am not that technical a person to understand it all, and simply hope theres something there=).

PS. OH, on 2nd thoughts, i may be sharing what helped heal others but not promoting their philosophies. I dont recommend but the doctor is said to have led a cult? I was considering the method tried for healing, not the beliefs.

Oh, but do you know, with newer researches on alkaline water and other forms water is processed today, i do wonder if distilled water would actually be the best. so many ways to detox the blood now... but ppl are individuals and what works for 1 may not for 10, and so on.

After a ridiculous amount of research spanning 8 months I've conluded that this must be a mycoplasma.

"Mycoplasmas have a special interaction with the lymphoreticular system in that they are immunomodulating pathogens that can compromise cellular immunity, otherwise known as your T-lymphocytes. In the case of the T-Suppressors (TCool, they will move towards a
high index due to an infection with mycoplasma hominis, whereas the T-Killers (T3) willconsiderably decrease in a natural proceeding of mycoplasmosis."

"When cellular-immunity becomes compromised, certain ubiquitous and ordinarily latent pathogens, such as the herpes viral family (epstein-barr, CMV, HHV-6 and others), have the ability to proliferate to detectable levels. As such, numerous misinformed and/or unethical health care providers are diagnosing epstein-barr or CMV when, in actuality, these pathogens are only symptoms (markers for immunity) of an underlying mycoplasma infection."

life-sources.

This sounds a lot like what some of you guys are reporting and a lot like what I've got.

PZ,

*Any* immunocompromising disorder allows common viruses to multiply unchecked, that's why HIV patients get very sick or die from the common viruses you mentioned. The trick is finding out what is causing the underlying immune compromising.

Best wishes.
