Had specialist appt today with a professor of immunology. He looked at my previous tests and looked at my ESR and I think it was cp and basically said I don't have anything wrong. No diseases and I am all good... Didn't really take note of any symptoms...

WK,

Regarding the "all clear" to have sex again:

We all know we are sick, and we all know that we will transmit this to whomever we are having sex with. And enough BS about "safe sex" - if you're putting your mouth on someone's unprotected genitals, or vice versa, then it's not safe sex, regardless of what you've been told. Same with kissing, if someone has a small cut on the mouth, bleeding gums, etc, then you're transmitting the virus. One lady gave HIV to kids she was babysitting by pre-chewing their food. A celebrity movie star got HIV via oral sex, never had anal sex.

I'd like to go back to the doctor who told me to see a psychiatrist and tell her that insanity is contagious, since I've infected 57 others - that's almost five dozen! This is way more contagious than HIV, I've transmitted it to two girls who performed oral on me, even without me ejaculating.

My sister has it, and we don't even know the same people. When she told me about her symptoms, I became so despondent that I stayed at work every night just to escape the thought of someone in my family getting this besides me.

All we can do now is work on potential treatments while the epidemic spreads. If the manufacturer of TAF (Tenofovir alafenamide fumarate) allows it to be sold to the public, get access to it - very few HIV drugs are effective against HTLV, this happens to be one of them. Of course, I don't like the stigma of taking an HIV drug, but I'd rather deal with the stigma instead of being dead. TAF is also effective against Hepatitis B, in case someone puts you on the spot about having HIV.

Best wishes.

It can't be too easilly transmitted when the girl hasn't passed it on to her other partners...

WK,

You're making the assumption that she hasn't infected her other partners - just like there is asymptomatic HIV infection, there's also asymptomatic HTLV infection. Some of the people I've had sex with either don't have symptoms or are in complete denial that they have symptoms, so your girl's partners could be in either of those categories. Or if they *truly* had safe sex (meaning they didn't put their mouths on her genitals AND used condoms for sex), then they could be uninfected.

Best wishes.

S,

Your T-cells might be high, platelets high, and sedimentation rate high. If the doctor is reasonable, ask for autoneural antibody, flower cell smear test, and of course HTLV.

Best wishes and Merry Christmas.

I find this thread to be utterly ridiculous. However, what you all fail to realize is that these constitutional symptoms you are describing may occur in several, several, several diseases. As to how you jump to the conclusion that this is due to a relatively rare virus, with certainly even rarer rate of diseases, is a far out exaggeration. To make matters worse, several of you have already tested negative for HTLV through several testing methods, including PCR (!), so why would you possibly continue to pursue HTLV 1 as a differential diagnosis. Medically, that makes absolutely no sense. HTLV is not the cause of most people's problems in this thread.

I too have fears as mentioned, but I think what we face is fear of the uncertainty of the testing, that is how sensitive, specific and conclusive the tests are. However, I think testing has come a long way and certainly PCR testing is enough to end your fears. If it isnt then you are being totally irrational because all common sense would suggest that you look elsewhere for a cause of your problems.

CN,

Mocking our forum comments by calling them "utterly ridiculous", and calling HTLV "rare" with 25 million people infected, close to the ballpark of the number of HIV infections, and your "I think" assertions about HTLV testing makes you sound like you're a charlatan. Also, you're signature of "a medical doctor from the Carribean" also is a joke in itself. If you are really a doctor, then what's your name? Where do you practice? What's your phone number? I've seen enough people on this forum claim to be working with "doctors", but won't supply their names or contact information - that's a total pile of garbage. We don't need more people saying they know doctors or are doctors themselves without names or contact information. And we don't need you walking all over us as a fake doctor.

Everyone else,

How many times has someone showed up at this forum and started trouble? To have the rest of you back down to people like this really disturbs me, and tells me that in real life you aren't going to do anything about this disease. If you can't stand up to a lying bully online, you won't be able to stand up to one in person. I know that AdviseMe, Scared, Ustas, WS, JB, and others have the courage to fight this thing, if the rest of you are going to be cowards, not share information, not supply names of doctors who might be able to help us, and back down to anyone who suddenly appears here and bullies us, well that's just unbelievably sad. I'm going to the mat with these people because if I don't then our pain, suffering, and death will mean nothing. Some of us have children and don't want our kids to grow up in a world of lies and cover ups. Any of you guys who are going to crawl under a rock are not part of the solution, you're part of the problem. Please consider making your New Year's resolution to stand up for our cause.

Happy New Year.

Happy new year.

So after my 2nd appt - they retested for the common diseases and I tested negative... Again.

I am going thru the motions to get my dr to test for the more uncommon diseases.

But they did do a immublobin test.

My IgM is low and my IgA is high. IgG normal -

Waiting to hear more

I wish everyone the best.
