Mattyp,

Welcome to the forum, I'm sorry to see you here but the good thing is your not alone. I share your exact same symptoms and more. I know it's frustrating but you have to pursue other things a 13 week negative hiv test result is 100% conclusive. Follow msamsamsa's advice it's a good idea. Good luck.

Tony,

Yes it had to be the oral sex or the deep kissing that's pretty much it we basically done everything but screw.

Scared,

You understand why I ask - other people have gotten sick via the receiving oral sex route, and certainly receiving oral sex is the LOWEST risk activity, which shows how infectious this disease is.

One guy in California on the HTLVHelp page on face book (Derrick) got infected by working on floors, and a lady in Carribean also got infected cleaning floors, both are married monogamous drug free people with children - both of them are unable to walk. So please don't beat yourself up about how you got infected.

Best wishes.

People,

This week an article was published claiming the cure of HIV in two Kenyan people using Methotraxate, which is also in the SAME CLASS (i.e. antimetabolites) as Azacytidine. Again this supports Louis Mansky's paper that Azacytidine could cure HIV, and the living cure of the HTLV patient in Greece using Azacytidine. Get your asses to a hematologist and say that you want to be treated! Here's a quote from the doctor in the article:

“This means there is a reservoir in the body where the virus is hiding and where the ARVs are not able to reach. The hideout is in some parts of the bone marrow. Get rid of this reservoir and, theoretically, you are home and dry,” Dr Barasa says, adding that he has achieved this using a method that comprises the use of a cancer drug (methotraxate) in combination with other agents. Two patients who have undergone the therapy, Dr Barasa adds, have shown no signs of the virus for the past six months.

Best wishes.

Like I said, the medical industry EVERYWHERE in the world is in denial about HTLV. Even in Australia where Aborigines die from HTLV, it's swept under the rug.

Tony,

That's a lot of testing. The worst part is not being able to confirm this virus!! I dare say my results will be negative also. Could it be something else? You have obviously done a lot more research than I have. I've only been going through the symtpoms for approximately 2 months.. And 3.5 months after exposure now..

Hey Tony,

I haven't looked yet but is there an HTLV test available on line? Man I can only get tested if I donate blood. I did get 1 test and it was negative (antibody test). My Dr. Which is an internal medicine Dr. Who is highly respected in my area assures me to donate blood. I have to admit I have once they sent me a letter showing what I was tested for Everything serious was negative and they're constantly calling me and sending me letters to donate again. I just don't know what to make of all this. I'm pretty sure if there was something life threatening in my blood wouldn't they have caught it?

Scared,

They are not listening - a whole group of people on TheBody site died ten years ago and it didn't make the news! We are next for a pine box if we don't do something about this. People like us who complain about being sick end up in a nut house (like DFrank). You can't tell me that I don't have a disease killing me, and you can't tell me that you're okay neither, but we're both supposed to pretend that everything's okay? What is this is the next epidemic? What if tons of people start dying of sepsis (like Doctor Bob), and everyone just shrugs their shoulders (which is exactly what happened when Doctor Bob died) - ditto for the people with Mycosis Fungoides, NHL, ATL, HAM, etc.

It's not okay that Doctor Bob's death was swept under the rug, it's not okay that HTLV is swept under the rug, it's not okay that MY suffering is swept under the rug, it's not okay that YOUR suffering is swept under the rug.

Look, this is a TOTAL NIGHTMARE, if someone told me two years ago that I'd be horribly sick with a disease has no recognition, no test, and no treatment, I would have laughed my ass off. We need to do more than just hide under the bed, we have to be vocal like the people with HIV were in the 80's - literally saying "we are not going away without making TONS of protests".

Best wishes.

Scared,

Sorry for the rant - to answer your question, HTLV testing is available through the big labs such as Quest Diagnostics, LabCorp, etc. If you visit their site(s) you should see the HTLV antibody test, HTLV PCR test, and HTLV Western Blot test.

Best wishes.

Scared,

This thing is so much bigger than the medical industry, the government, with people being sick, crippled, and dead, don't you think that we would have heard about this before we got sick?

Look at where we are - we all know that we are sick, and that other people are sick with this too, yet we are unable to convince ONE doctor that we are sick, and get this thing recognized as a real disease, and get help / treatment.

Your doctor isn't a bad doctor for telling you that you are okay, I've been there myself. And for a while you might try to believe that you are okay, and go on with your normal life, I've been there too. But after a while, you're going to come full circle and be right back to the point where you're asking yourself and more doctors what is wrong with me?

Best wishes.

Whoknows,

Thanks for updating.

I have had not any relatives being ill because of me. Although I have had no intercourse for almost a year now.

I too experience that my arms/legs/butt go to sleep WAY faster than before.

I have no apetite most of the time, but that is something that I have had for a very long time no (almost all my life).

I advice you: make sure you eat enough and eat healthy. Maybe take some vitamin pills if you do not eat enough fruits/vegatables etc.

I think this disease what we have, even if it is not htlv, makes my/our blood thicker/less fluid. I have based this on the following:
- Arms/Legs/Butt etc go to sleep REALLY fast.
- Broken blood vessels
- When I have a wound/scratched by my cat, blood does not come out of the wound it just stays there, even if I press on it. In the past blood would just flow out of those wounds I had.

We are all wasting away
M,

Same here on the arms / legs / butt sleeping, neuropathy, and wasting - my pants literally fall off of me because nothing is there anymore.

Thanks for emphasizing eating right, along with vitamins & supplements. Here's what I am taking & why:

1. Daily yogurt (for breakfast), since it fights Candida / yeast infections associated with retroviral infection.

2. Supplements - multivitamin, elcipta abla (contains ant-HTLV Wedelolactone), lysine (antiviral), chinese skullcap (HTLV reverse transcriptase inhibitor), vitamin E, iron pill, green tea (anti-HTLV).

Best wishes.

Antimetabolites cure HTLV and HIV
Scared,

Thanks for talking to me today on the phone - I felt much better after we talked.

Everyone else,

Scared & I had a good phone talk today, he discussed the tons of work he's had done with doctors and their absurd attitudes towards the disease. Like me, he's taken prescription antibiotics and now realizes that this is not a bacteria that's making us sick. We agreed that this is definitely a retrovirus, while it's not HIV, it's related closely enough to HIV to be categorized as the same family (retroviruses), most likely HTLV. This was the second call I've had with Scared, and I found it to be as important as the call I had with WS, who is willing to go outside the country to find a doctor to prescribe this for us. WS - heck, at this rate we should be talking directly to Doctor Barasa in Kenya, or at least a doctor who's willing to make the call to Doctor Barasa and get us on the same treatment protocol!

I pointed out that this is the same thing that happened at the beginning of the HIV epidemic - doctors treated the SYMPTOMS (e.g. PCP pnuemonia) of the disease without treating the virus itself. So yes, you can take all of the antibacterial and antifungal medications you wanted, but that's not treating the CAUSE of your immune malfunction.

We also had the same train of thought that (ironically) if this were HIV, we'd have access to all kinds of doctors and medications and no one would be calling use crazy. I pointed out that all research into using approved HIV medications against HTLV has been shown ineffective against HTLV. The rule is that HIV drugs don't work againt HTLV, but HTLV drugs work against HIV. Consider the published articles on the HTLV patient in Greece being cured of HTLV with Azacytidine (an antimetabolite), and Louis Mansky's work about Azacytidine being effective against HIV, and the Kenyan article about Methotraxate (also an antimetabolite) being a cure for HIV. All of this taken together means that we are at the crossroads of curing both HIV & HTLV - the only caution is that if we don't get HTLV on the radar, it will never be treated, and we will be abandoned (dead) on the side of the road.

Last week I exchanged mail with Doctor Louis Mansky, he said that his group is pursuing gemcitabine and decitabine (azacytidine derivatives) in treating HIV. Again, the take away message is that antimetabolites (cancer drugs used against leukemia and lymphoma) are effective against retroviruses, and can help us as well.

Imagine how many people with leukemia / lymphoma have HTLV and never knew the virus existed in their bodies, regardless if they lived or died from it. Same goes for Doctor Bob dying of (HTLV related) sepsis, when everyone looked to him as the beacon of hope for surviving HIV. HTLV is probably responsible for 25% of the cancers out there, and literally know one knows about it because no one tests for it - this is a terrible shame for the millions of people who asked "why do I have cancer?" and never were given an answer.

Best wishes.

Hey guys,

Does anyone else have lighter colour gums above their teeth? It's like a line around the gums which is two toned. If that makes sense.

I'm pretty sure australia have trialed and used azacitidine for cancer patients which has helped. It's spelt different..

WK,

Yes, it can be spelled different ways:

1. Azacytidine.
2. Azacitidine.
3. Vidaza (trade mark name from Celgene Corporation).
4. CP-4200 (trade mark name from Clavis / Clovis conglomerate).
