
The cause of celiac disease, also known as gluten-sensitive enteropathy (GSE), is still a mystery. Sometimes the disease is triggered-or becomes active for the first time-after some particular factors, such as surgery, pregnancy, childbirth, viral infection, or severe emotional stress.
