Q: CD4 Cell surge

3 Months ago I tested positive on Elisa and Indeterminate on Western Blot. Back then the CD4 Count was 548.

I was retested las week. Western Blot came positive. I had a new CD4 Count which came on 760.

My doctor could not explain the increase. Is it normal to loose CD4 cells during seroconversion? At the time of this first Cd4 count I was recovering from a lung infection.

I have heard of that happening if your body was already compromised from another illness and has recovered. T Cells fluctuate. If I have a flue or infection, even minor, my #s go down, then the next time I get checked they are up again.. its a numbers game. As long as your undetectable then don't worry about the numbers. Exercise and eat right and sleep good and take your meds religiously and everything should be OK. respect
