Since 2 days ago,i noticed my left side of the neck was slightly swollen.I went to the doctor and he said it was slightly swollen. But i am still afraid that it might be throat cancer because my neck is a little painful at times and the left side of my cheekbone has abit of pain at times.I also suffer from hypochondria.I am a smoker aged 20,been smoking for a year now.

some of my friends told me that the swelling is bad whereas one of my friends said he cant notice anything and another one said it has gone down.I am so scared and i am uploading the pics here and i really hope u guys can see and really really advice me.Thank you so much guys.

Ear, Nose and Throat Disorders Answer A4948
Current medical status: Hypochondria
Current medical treatment: None

Given the data you provided, it is very hard to determine the real cause. Swelling in the neck area can be due to several causes. Most often enlarged lymph nodes appear due to surrounding inflammation. On the other hand, certain of the possible causes, including cancer of the throat, cannot be excluded without a laringoscopy by an Ear, Nose and Throat specialist.
