Q: Causes of painful sexual intercourse
asked by: DoctorQuestion on November 28th, 2008
I havent had intercourse much but everytime i get this pain in my lower stomach and it feels like its banging on my stomach. if i put presure against my abdominal area it relieves it very slightly to carry on until my partner has ejaculated. this pain puts me off doing anything with sex. i read that it could be to do with my cervix being tilted. if so what should i be doing to stop this pain during intercourse?

Sexual Health - Women Answer A5007
Current medical status: abdominal pain during intercourse, masterbation
Current medical treatment: i have had no medical trearment as yet

Painful sex (dyspareunia) could be due to organic reasons (vaginal infections, vaginal tumors, disorders of the soft tissues around the vagina or uterus, etc.) or psychological reasons. Therapy depends upon the diagnosis.

You could consult a gynecologist about your problem.
