Q: Causes of hormonal imbalance related conditions
asked by: DoctorQuestion on September 11th, 2009
So me & my boyfriend have unprotected sex, (pull out method) all the time. About two months ago because my sister was on her period she apparently pulled me on a week earlier. Last month was about the same, around August 15th. This month, though I got my "period" sept.5th. (Normally shouldn't start til around the 25th of each month.) For two days it was alright, then 3-4 days after was a brownish discharge. My stomach cramps a lot, I have trouble falling asleep, my back aches, I felt sick after eating chinese food, I get little pains in my bbs, side cramps and a little emotional. Also a little TMI but bad poops...dierreah. I'm wondering did her pulling me on mess up my cycle severely? Or is pregnancy a possiblity? I don't have insurance & don't want to say anything until I get some possible answers... any help please? It's greatly appreciated.

The data you reported (stomach cramps, back ache. side cramps, tender breasts, feeling little emotional, menstrual period started when not expected), it seems likely that you might be experiencing hormonal imbalance-related conditions.

The symptoms of changes in the female hormone levels can sometimes look similar to the early symptoms of pregnancy, because similar hormonal changes occur in the early pregnancy, too. What is harder to find out is the exact cause for the hormonal imbalance.

It might be caused by temporary fluctuations of the production. Stress, both physical and emotional, might alter the hormone production. Sometimes the symptoms subside when the menstrual period is over and do not extend to the following menstrual cycles.

If the same symptoms occur during the next menstrual cycle, you are advised to visit a gynecologist. A physical examination and hormonal laboratory test are highly likely to be performed. If a hormonal imbalance is detected, the gynecologist might give you hormone-containing pills in order to try to restore the normal sex hormone production in the body.
