Q: Causes of excessive blinking
asked by: DoctorQuestion on December 22nd, 2008
my guy friend moved from Mexico to America 5yrs ago, when he arrived he started blinking quite a bit. He has seen a dr. about 4yrs ago and the dr. explained it was because of the enviroment change and eventually his eyes would adjust, however it's been 5yrs now and he still blinks alot more then what he should. Can you give me any advice on what he can do and what it might be? He seems to have adjusted to it, however I have not.

Excessive blinking can appear due to dry air, or chronic inflammation of certain structures of the eye. The last is not very probable because an eye inflammation is usually easily recognized because the sclera (the white part) is more or less reddish. One more reason that has to be considered is a neurological disorder. You might want to visit a neurologist to consult about this possibility, too.

My Healing Experience From The Same Eye-blinking Sickness
My Healing Experience From The Same Eye-blinking Sickness

From what you have mentioned about the serious conditions of your eye-blinking sickness, I would very much want to tell you that I have suffered from the similar symptoms (eye-blinking of countless times in a split second - I have suffered from it for about one year and then I finally get it totally cured through acupuncture therapy a few years back having sought other numerous but futile treatments from the other medical specialists / personnel) due to the neurological muscle spasms side effects of dopamine-disturbing medications of certain antipsychotics meant for the treatment of certain mental disorders.

Hence, I would like to share with you my healing experience from such an annoying sickness and I hope that you will somehow draw some useful reference from the information given.

In this regard, out of the articles giving details about my healing experience from such a chronic eye-blinking sickness, please look for the one entitled ' A New Version For The Self-administered Acupuncture Cure For Non-stop Persistent Eyelid-twitching' from the weblink :

Lastly, I hope that you will in turn get benefited from the information provided. Thank you.
