Q: Causes of enuresis
asked by: DoctorQuestion on November 28th, 2008
it is actually concerning my husband.he is 36 years old and sexually very active. we have been married for four years and never had any problem with our intimate relationship.after i got married one night i found out that he urinated on the bed while in sleep.at the begining of our marriage he would do that 3-4 times a year.but now its down to once a year.he done it last night again.we do have sex regularly and he says he dreams of some weird stuff and thats when it happens.its not causing any problem in our sex life but i find it very disgusting.i love him and don wanne lose him for some silly matter.please let me know if there is anything he can do to get rid of the problem.also when the urination is kind of heavy.he is a very healthy person with no diabetic,bp,cholesterol or any other health problem.he goes to see his doctor at least twice a year.but never brought up this issue with anyone.i am the only one who knows about it.he said he had been doing this since he was 20 years old.

Given the symptoms you provided, your husband might be experiencing enuresis (bedwetting). There are many possible causes for enuresis. These include urinary tract infection, insufficient anti-diuretic hormone (ADH) production and psychological causes. The long time period between the bedwetting and the “weird stuff” dreams indicate that psychological causes are the most probable for this condition.
