Hi, I hope somebody can help me with this - PLEASE!!! I've been having trouble with my period for the last year (Aug, last year after the birth and death of my baby). Now, I get a period, but it's extremely light. I've been reading up on the reasons for a scant period, and the causes can be:
1. Hyperthyroidism - which is def. not wrong with me as I just had surgery to remove half my thyroid because of a lump which turned out to be dead tissue due to hypothyroidism.
2. Hormone imbalance - I've had trouble with that and took meds, but the last tests the dr had done seemed fine, which is strange because I had milk in my one breast until recently, but my prolactin levels was normal. (?)
3. Uterine scarring - I'm scared that this is wrong with me, but how do I know without having to go for a scope? Every time I go to the gyn/ob he does sonars (and preescribe Clomid) but I heard you can't see scarring on the sonar.

The reason I'm so confused is that I've taken Clomid in the past year (my period was /- 3 days, my normal period was /- 5/6 days) and have established that I do ovulate, but since not taking Clomid since July this year my period became less and less. The last time (the night before my op) was only a wipefull. I thought 'O, no, I don't need this going to hospital' but it never came properly. I took a preg test and it was negative. I'm so sick of seeing those negatives!

Sorry for the long post, but if anyone can please give me any advice or veiwpoint on this I would really appreciate it.

Vanessa

Asherman's Syndrome
If anyone were interested, it turns out I've got Asherman's Syndrome after my last c-section. I'm going for a hysteroscopy on monday to try and correct this.
