Q: Cause of bump on neck

So I have a dime sized bump on the left side of my neck, near the collar bone area. It has been there for YEARS now. I am not sure exactly how many, I would say maybe 3 years. It isn't painful in any way, I always forget that it's there. It doesn't move, or change size or shape.

Any ideas?

Welcome to EHEALTH forum!
Is this lump found just under the skin, and feel soft to touch (feel rubbery)?
Does it move readily with slight finger pressure?

It will be good to check this lump for benign tumor, lipoma, that can be very rarely situated in the neck muscles.
For example, there have been some cases of slow growing lipoma located inside the Sternocleidomastoid muscle at the side of the neck.
