Hi!!

I an IT professional. I suffer from minor form of epilepsy. I was taking the medicine Epival 250mg but then switched over to Keppra and finally LEREAC which well suited me. One of the main reasons for changing the medicine was that I felt Epival was responsible for causing excessive hunger.

I am 10-15kgs over-weight. But I am quite athletic than the average person. I used to do Karate when I was young and even
passed the yellow belt test. I work out in a nearby gym home, on and off, and go on jogging on Sundays for 2 hours.

Despite, all the physical activities that I do, I am still over-weight. I have abnormal eating patterns. I have lunch and
dinner more early than my family members do. I also over-eat. I cant understand figure out what is the reason that I overeat. Moreover, over-eating is causing me gastric problems. If I get fat later on, it will cause more diseases to me.

A doctor recently suggested me to get a test done for checking what is the amount of iodine in my body. That might be causing me epilepsy and over-eating. But I am still not sure whether that is the reason for abnormal eating.

Please would someone suggest me something on this issue.

I use portion control. I still eat every few hours, but I eat smaller portions. You can try filling up on salad or vegetables to keep your calorie intake lower. There are many healthy foods you could be eating. Fruit is very low in calorie and it will fill you up. Maybe you could start exercising also, to burn off excess calories.

i eat when i am very depressed, happy, lonely, etc.
i take a herb that's called hoodia with green tea, it is safe and it suppresses your appetite, so you wont want any food.
i take this because i have been eating at 1-2am in the morning. i am already over weight.
i hope this helps.
