I"m scheduled to have a cataract operation in a month. My doctor explained me that I have an option of choosing an option of various lenses, gaining various sight correction option (doing without far-sight glasses, for example).
I wonder, what else should I ask my doctor? Are there alternative methods? Different types of lenses? Different optimization criteria?

Morning-this surprized me..20 years ago I worked with Ophthalmologist for 5.5 years and went into the OR with them on several occasions..I never hard any of the 9 doc group describe what youa re saying..Of course medicene changes drastically from one day to the next..I know that back then a person had the lens placed and then after surgery some needed mild reading glasses others didn't..I know you will be amazed at the difference in how you see..Best of luck to you..

Thank kdlee.
My doctored informed me that I can choose between a normal (no glasses) far sight and difficulties with near-sight (reading, for example) and keeping my current glasses, gaining an almost normal reading capabilities. The new lense is a fixed size' and therefore, it set a norm' which can be adjust for further or neared sight.
Still, my question was phrased in more general perspective. Is there anything ELSE I should ask me doctor?

Sorry-meant to say these things..You may want to check if you will need assistance after surgery, what about eye drops followig suregery and for how long? will there be pain? Will it fee like sokmething is in the eye? Can the meds needed after surgery be called into your pharmacy prior so that you can go directly home..You will need a driver of course..How long will the patch be on for? How long will you need to make followup visits.. kd
