Carpal Tunnel will it heal itself or will therapy heal it?

carpal tunnel,I have never had it before I started my last job it was continous turning of the wrist all day long,it started after a month of working there it then got worse hands going to sleep at night,going to sleep while driving my work truck
I then got laid off and I have not worked since jan of 2012 would it heal itself or would therapy heal it.It does not go numb anymore except when I use my wrist to play guitar,a dr has diagnosed me with mild to moderate carpal tunnel
