Hello! I just bought some Carpal Tunnel braces at the suggestion of my doctor. I have very intense wrist and hand pain and use a computer constantly for work and at home.

The very stiff braces I use at night are great and have helped a great deal but they are too restrictive for every day tasks. I purchased Work About Carpal Mate braces that are designed for typing and other activities. However I find them awkward and even uncomfortable when I use them at my computer and for some reason they are making me want to lift my shoulders and elbows up which is causing strain in those areas. Also my fingers seem a bit tingly when I use them. This is my first day using them. Anyone used something like this before? Any suggestions? Is this just something I will grow accustomed to after using them for a few days? Thanks in advance!

The best suggestion I can give you is what I did for myself...If my hand gets real sore I put on my Mueller hand brace at night...Usually take it off in the morning...I type a lot...However, I got this big U shaped desk deal with the computer is in the middle...It has the pull out area where the keyboard is...It is lower than the top of the desk like it should be and my hands are in the same position as they were when I was taught typing in high school...My mouse is on my right side next to the keyboard...Both things on this lower level...This did the trick for me...IMO, when people put a keyboard or mouse on the desk, they are placing their hands in an unnatural position...It is a strain on their wrists....Just my thougths...
