Hey guys.

I am looking for some ideas for a fitness program. I am 32 years old and 10 years ago was the most sporty person I know. 10 years has now passed and I realise I have not played a sport or done any strutcured exercise for 10 years. I am wanting to take up athletics so obviously need to start by getting fit.

Anyone have some ideas for a program or some drills I can do for fitness??

Depends on your goals, what are you looking into? Trying to lose some weight, toning, just want to keep the heart and lungs strong, etc, a bit of everything?

I don't know if there are athletic clubs for adults like adult soccer clubs, masters swimming, etc. But if there are, I think you should give it a try.

You can definitely find some sort of athletic club or organization depending on if they offer any in your nearby area. Or even if you just stick with a consistent routine during the week to get some sprints, running, and weights done on your own time!

Interval training is really popular now. Ie run as fast as you can for a minute, walk, rest, jog for a minute, and then run again fast for a minute. Some argue that it burns more calories than just jogging. Others say it will help you get in shape much more quickly.

I like it because of that 1 minute rest.

I think that doing some aerobik (straching, slow-step exercises, and runing exercises) will be hapefull for you - for getting some condition.
