My neice is 17 weeks pregnant with twins. Prior to her pregnancy visit, she had not had a pap smear for 8 years. Her pap smear showed abnormal cells so she went back to have a procedure done. The doctor decided it was a large area so he did a biopsy. It came back and said it was carcinoma in situ. I believe they wanted to do further testing but my neice is scared she will lose the babies. She is also 33 years old. To go to 35 weeks, she still needs to carry these babies for 18 more weeks. How dangerous is it to wait? What else should the doctors do? How fast does this cancer grow and how sure can we be that it isn't invasive? Anyone who has experienced this before, please help with answers.
