Dear Doctor(s):

My sister who is 27 year of age has carcinoid tumour in-between stomach, pancreas, left kedney & spleen. I would like to know whether a carcinoid tumour is a type of cancer. If it is a cancer then what kind of treatment would be required. Please advice.

Carcinoid tumor is a slow growing cancer.
Surgery is the only therapy that can help treating this condition, but, if it was found in its early stages.
Chemotherapy, can be used, too, but it is less effective.

Thanks for your reply. The biopsy report we have, does not state/discribe any stage. Is there any other test/investigation which will discribe the stage of the cancer? Please advise.

Did your sister have any symptoms leading up to her diagnosis and if so, what were they?

How did they find the carcinoid if it's in the stomach area and in between all the organs?
