I would think you should if it was her fault! I'm sorry that happened, that just really stinks!

I don't know what all options you have on the car. But I just went to kelley Blue book and put some info in: 94 sunbird, 100,00 miles, standard options, 4cly. and this is the price range on that car.

http://www.kbb.com/KBB/UsedCars/PricingRep ort.aspx?ManufacturerId=40&YearId=1994 &VehicleClass=UsedCar&VehicleId=97 44&PriceType=Private Party&ModelId =562&Mileage=10000&SelectionHistor y=9744|22756|31545|0|0|&Cond ition=Excellent&QuizConditions=
Excellent: 1,525
Good: 1,300
Poor: 950

Generally speaking when an older car or any car is totaled the pay out is going to be what the car is currently worth. They will either send an appraiser out and/or use a source like Kelley Blue Book to determine the current worth of said car. With that said my 98 Malibu was wrecked last Feb not my fault. The other car insurance paid out 2,000 for the damage. Which was only 400 less than what I paid for the car.
