I have had a problem were i cant breathe and it hurts my rib cages to where i cant do anything and they feel restricted. There are sharp pain in my side, and i cant move sometimes. I know its not asthma. I get short breaths and sometimes i wake up in the middle of the night/early morning because i cant breathe or i get sharp pains in my sides and rib cages, im lacking in rest, and im always tired. I'm never satisfied with any breaths that i take, and deep breaths are a difficult challenge for me, and i feel i cant overcome that challenge. I breathe VERY heavy at night, and when im on the phone. I feel that my ribs are too close to each other, when i bend to a certain point. They rub against each other and it is an excruciating pain. I played sports since i was young and it hasn't affected me until now, im always use to being active, and now that i currently quit SOME of my sports its hard for me to breathe, and i loose breathe even walking up the stairs to my bedroom.

Please help me.

Alyssa.

Have you ever been examined by your family doctor?
What were the results?

Are there periods of the day when you don't feel breathing difficulties?
Do you experience breathing difficulties more during a physical activity?

Do you experience more anxiety recently?

i did go to a doctor, and they said i was fine.
Yes, there are some days were i don't feel breathing difficulties.
Yeah, it takes longer for me to catch my breath then other people.
As for the anxiety, if school counts as that, then yes, if not, then no.
My parents do not believe me when im saying that im hurting.

Have you ever made lung functional tests (FEV, PEF...)? These tests will show up if there is something wrong with the lung function.

Chest X-ray can be also helpfull. Have you ever made chest X-ray image?

Your parents are not qualified to judge if there is something wrong with you or not. If you really feel sick you can ask for medical help by yourself.

Sorry "Miss_Alyssa" but I have no ideas what could be your problem without the results from the medical tests I mentioned above.

i have like almost the same thing and my doctor said that i have supraventricular tachycardia. then i went bace to the doctor for a check up and it was worse so he ran some tests and said that i have becker muscualr distrophy.

i mean to like scare u or n.e thing, cause muscular distrophy is like not the best thing to be diagnsed with, but mabe you have tachycardia like me.

ok, so i dont have the pain like u have but i have the same breathing thing and the same thing happens to me at night, and yeaa we have almost the same things. my doc did a few heart tests and he said that my heart was goin waaaaay to fast (the avrage beats per minute is 90, mine is 180) and that is why i was haveing breathing problems. that is called tachycardia. the type i have is supraventricular tachycradia.

ok so i went bak to my doc like 7 months after i was diagnosed because it was getting worse and he gave me like a bunch of tests and the he said that i have "becher muscular distrophy"

that makes sence because when you have muscular distrophy (MD) your muscles weaken and eventually do not work well. so my heart was weakened and my lungs where weakened. so therefore i had a hard time breathing.

there is liek alot of other syntoms that comealong with MD like leg musle weakness, etc, so if you have any questions with MD or tachycardia the you can message me or soemthing. mabe you should also look them up on the internet.

wow that was a long message but i hope it heps,
