for the past 3 weeks straight ive had difficulty breathing.. i feel like i cant take a deep enough breath. before it was hurting in my chest, throat and where my ribs meet. now its more just a discomfort thing. the day it happened, i went to the drop in cause my regular doctor wasnt in. he checked my blood pressure, listened to my heart and my lungs, however briefly. he said nothing is wrong with me and thinks its all in my mind but i KNOW its not!i have anxiety and i can tell this isnt caused by that. once in a while, especially when im lying down my arms go numb. i sometimes get woken up in the middle of the night cause im not breathing.
i finally went to my doctor and she doesnt think its asthma. she said it might be acid reflux soo i was taking gaviscon for a while but it didnt seem to do anything.

i have noticed that i do have a lot of mucous in the back of my throat and nose. i dont cough a lot when i breathe and im not wheezing. i DO have acid, but when i take the gaviscon and that goes away, the breathing problems are still there. i dont know what to do!!! i get really light headed and feel like im gonna pass out at times, even when im sitting down, i almost feel dreamlike too and have to fight to stay concious. this is really bothering me and i dont know what to do!!! anyone have any ideas? i cant concentrate on ANYTHING!!

I would see a respiratory specialist, and if you already did, go to a sleep center and prove that you stop breathing. Then they will be able to diagnose the real problem.

I suggest that if you see a respiratory specialist. Or if you already did go to a sleep center and let them see firsthand that you have sleep apnea. Then after you have that established they can probably diagnose the real issue to your other symptoms.

Did you find anything?
Did you ever find anything out? I have been having some similar issues and doctors can not find anything wrong with my throat, lungs, heart, or anything in my blood, I have some other random symptoms as well that I don't know if they're related at all like: sore calves, Raynaud's Phenomenon in my fingers and toes, recurrent colds and bacterial throat infections, a rash on my chest that lasted for a few weeks (a few months ago), dizziness when I yawn or take deep breaths....and a few others.

An ENT told me that I had GERD but that was a load of crap. Now they are testing my blood for auto immune diseases but they just can't seem to find anything. HELP!

nope! it's been a year and a half and i STILL have breathing issues. i'm not sure if they've gotten a bit better or if i'm just able to handle it easier now...
i don't have any of the symptoms i talked about anymore though other than the breathing issues and the mucous.
my doctor sent me to get breathing tests done (sat in a big glass box and had to breathe into something) and it saidmy breathing was normal...i've got xrays and still nothing.
i've actually been thinking lately that i should go to an ears nose and throat specialist...
i really hope you have more luck than i have!!!!!

breathing
Have had the same problem, you need to change your acid reflux medicine to omeprazole, generic for prilosec, which is basically the same as nexium although it costs alot less. Is says to take 1 pill for 24 hour relief, but i went to GI doctor and she told to take two in the morning and two at night, 12 hours apart. Then i recommend you look in to buying Aloeelite. It's expensive and cost over 100 dollars for 240 pills, but its worth it. Its the only thing the helps heal my digestive system. GO to Aloeelite.com, and read about it. I went to an ear nose and throat doctor because had that mucous too but he said nothing was wrong with my throat. also if you smoke stop ,and don't drink alcohol, it causes acid reflux eventually.

Same stuff different pile.
I have had this for a long time, and sometimes it feels like on and off, for me it felt like 3 things were going on at the same time. The mucas coming up into my throat, my thoat tasting like yuck(acid reflux) and my soft pallette in my mouth gets red and drives me crazy... I found this help this helped me.

Honey has made it go away in the past.
Put a towel over your head and over a vaporizer (the thing thats steams the room)
For all I hear alot of people complaining( myself included) but I have not found no cure Sad as I have tried alot of things. At one point the Dr thinks it was alergy meds dont do anything.

Very fustrated as well..
