My husband & I have been trying to have a baby for the past 2 years. No luck yet. We've tried getting on the right days .. but still no luck. In the past I've had an abortion .. Could this be a problem..? Or could something be wrong with him?He is now overseas for military is there anything I can do now to increase our chances while he's gone? Help please . Thank you all!

Mods? Wrong forum?
My understanding is that it is highly unlikely, unless you suffered some kind of serious infection at the time, that your abortion could have be responsible for your current infertility.

Was your current husband responsible for the pregnancy that was aborted? If not, and he has never fathered a child, then it seems that this is an area that needs to be looked at. Have you had any kinds of tests done yet? First step would be to get his sperm tested. Many men have reduced or non-existent sperm count.

Oopoopoop brings up a good point. People tend to put the woman's reproductive system at blame automatically but sometimes the guy is shooting blanks or on a diet that's affecting his sperm. Maybe your husband should get checked out too if he hasn't already.

The best thing someone has ever said is don't stress out, have sex for the fun of it/enjoy, if you get pregnant you do and if you don't just remember next month is a new month.

Another good thing to look into is blood types, maybe it doesn't apply in your case bt if you are RH- and him RH it can cause alot of problems.

Have you tried ovulations tests?? Pap smears coming back normal? Is either one your consumations of alcohol or caffeines increasing (lower sperm count.)

Best bet would be for both of you to see a dr but if you are thinking about fertility treatments I know the drs down here make you wait awhile. I don't know what its like where you are but I would definatly look into things!

The chances that an abortion caused it is rare but it could be a possibility but I know stress can be a huge factor as well!

Well after I had the abortion I went back for a pap smear and it came up abnormal I had to get another pap where the insert the vinegar but fter that everything was fine . they calle dme back and told me I was good. Although when i was preagnant the first time I had a lack or iron so they gave me iron pills .. and prenatal vitamins. My husband was not the father from when i had the abortion. & what kind of tests would be done when they determine if I can have a baby? is it just a pap smear ? blood test?
Thanks
