Hi,
I have been under a lot of stress with work and my grandmother just passed away and my son had surgery and lots of things. I was recently on birth control pills that I had bad side effects from and got high anxiety which i still have. Now I have 2 or 3 small white spots on my gums. They are round and flat. They are not oozing anything and they are painless unless i mess with them but nothing comes out just flat, white and small. I emailed a dentist and he tells me they are canker sores. They popped up after all my stress. He says they can be stress related and sometimes they can be painless and will go away in 3 or 4 weeks once they form fully. I did use listerine in my mouth which would burn unbearable and make my whole face and mouth go num. I wonder if this could have caused the cankers. My mom has cankers. I have 3 of these on my gum and 2 are very tiny hardly obvious and one is bigger but still small, my husband says that one is fading and going away. I can not tell as i look at it 50 times a day. My mom has these things all the time and I tend to have them on inner cheeks, roof of mouth and tounge. never had on gums before that I have noticed. Lately I have starting flossing vigorously and brushing several times a day. I went to the dentist about 4 months ago for a cleaning and everything was good and I had an oral cancer screening and this was negative. I have never smoked, don't drink, don't chew tobacco. I wondeer if the dentist was right. I have another cleaning schedluled next month.
