Hello and welcome to e health forum. ‎

The description of the lump appears to be a infected abscess or a infected sebaceous cyst on the scalp. Presence of such inflammatory lesions can cause reduced growth of hair. Such lesions increase in size with time, and hurt when pressure is applied.

Any form of infection and abscesses can cause fever, lethargy and generalized aches and pains. Use of anti inflammatory medications like ibuprofen or aspirin can help reduce her symptoms. In addition treatment with ‎antibiotics might help to treat the infection. ‎
‎
Hence for proper treatment, she might consult with her doctor, who can ‎prescribe her proper antibiotics and supportive medications.
