Cancer in brain or anxiety Posted: 03-15-08 16:45pm
My name is Gabe, I am 12 years old. I have
been recently not been thinking straight
and having alot of anxiety attacks. I
constantly lose my balance and feeling
light headed. My eyes have a weird effect
when i look at something (sometimes) and i
have to stare at that something for a
while. I always think i am dieing and have
some "uncureable" disease. I am also noot
living with my mother. I was living with
my grandma but i recently moved to my
fathers house (yesterday). I have to ask
people whatthe said right after they said
something. I dont think my hearing is
wrong, i think my brain is. I am having a
little anxiety attack as i am writing
this. I dont know what to do. I also cant
concentrate on my school work. I dont know
what to do. Does any one have answers?

welcome to e health forum, what you are
going through is similar to many people
here on e health including myself, the
best advice i could give you is to talk to
someone about your anxiety fears and not
to keep them to yourself. also seeing your
doctor and talking to him/her about your
anxiety could also be a good idea. try
keeping your mind off your anxiety fears,
by doing things you enjoy like , watching
a movie, going for a walk stay relax and
just remember your not alone.
i hope this helps you, i could also
suggest to read other posters threads who
may be going through something similar to
you.

Gabe,
I started having anxiety attacks when I
was your age. The good news is: there is
help available and things you can do. I'd
start off by seeing if your parents have
insurance coverage for you to see a
therapist. However, it's a good idea to
see your family doctor first to make sure
it's nothing physical, just to be on the
safe side and give yourself peace of
mind.
It gets better, my friend!
Take care,
S.

Welcome home! We are always here to try to
help you or at least try! Can you not go
to a school counselor and talk to them?
They can find you the help you are looking
for even if its a financial
circumstance/insurance reasons. There are
also mental health facilities (great
doctors) who understand what you are going
through. Being from a broken home at age
5, I totally understand you are
goinghtrough a greeat deal, and being 12
going through puberty is not a day at hte
beach either! You are too young to be
worrying about things that really do not
matter. Gabe, please find someone you can
trust to talk to and tell them you need
some help getting through this. Its not
something you can do alone.....I remember
when I was 12...thats the year I first
started going to therapist! You can always
PM me if you'd like! I'm a Mom
too..........and a really cool Aunt so I'm
told! Just wnat you to know someone cares
and will be here if you need us!

I too am from a broken home and have
always felt the same way as you. I have to
ask people ot repeat what they said very
ofter and have to stare at things to
focus. Like fairy*godmother said, find
someone you can trust and talk to about
everything. Many of us here are always
willing to listen if you ever need to
talk. You can always pm me too, if you
woul dlike. I am a great listener and may
have experienced many of the things you
are going through (I have been through
alot).
