Can this be a symptom of Hemorrhoids?

For the last several weeks, I have had a strange pain/pressure up inside my anus. It seems to be more located to the right side. No bleeding,except once after being a little constipated about a month ago. I can't see anything on the outside, but was told internal hemorrhoids don't cause any pain.

I have no insurance, so I hate to go the the dr to be told I have hemorrhoids. But if it's likely something serious, obviously I don't want to skip a trip to the Dr...

Anyone have a dull ache on one side turn out to be a symptom of them?
