i dont know why drs seem to think young backs are immune to problems but they do. has a spine surgeon ordered an mri for you? can you get to see a spine surgeon? sometimes young people have to scream for help louder than older people.....pete

hi again...
i've heard a back brace can help keep spine straight. have you tried one? i would ask physio about it. i'm glad you get out now and then on the bike and walk the dog on the good days. keep moving best you can. if you walk on grass it will be easier on your foot.
do you think the painkillers make you depressed?

hi i understand what you are saying but walking my dog and riding my bike is not very often now i walk my dog to the park thats right outside my door and then back home i do miss going for longer walks i think its the point of not being able to walk long distance with my dog ect thats getting me down and my doctor saying they dont know what is causing the pain when i have already been told what the proplem is unless my physio was lying i think what i really want is for my doctor to tell me what it is and if they can help it go away or is it here for the rest of my life because i dont like taking all my painkillers all the time and if it is something i have to put up with i can do my research and find ways to cope with it without taking all these tablets but they dont seem to tell me anything i dont mean to go on about it but 9 years is a long time to cope with it on my own i am greatful for you response it really does help thanks again from kelly

hi again kelly.
do you live in the british isles and do you have private insurance. i am thinking it might be good to get 2 nd opinion from spine surgeon. is that possible? how long ago did you get mri? maybe its time for a new one. if its been a year and youve got worse another one would be good.
did the dr ever tell you the degrees your back of off. like say 20 or 30 degrees?
oh...and the letter that was lost. if you can get a new one for the dr to see that would help. dont throw in the towel on this problem. you are young and i think strong and can somehow overcome this problem. write back soon....pete

hi kelly......my impression of the health system in your country is they dont like spending money. can you afford the insurance. that might give you more flexibility in getting a good dr and moving along more quickly in your quest for relief.....pete

i really don't have a clue as to what is wrong with my foot (left only). i am a 59 yr old male that has stayed active most of my life, i worked construction for nearly 30 yrs, participated in sports and rode a bycycle regulary. the last yr i moved and stopped all of the above activities, i also have gained 15 lbs, i now weigh 200 lbs and am 6' tall. i was diagnosed having scoliosis a few yrs ago. now, back to my foot problem. every morning upon waking up and getting out of bed i have developed a pain in my left heel, it is very hard to put any weight on it until i start moving around a little bit. i have also noticed when i lay down for a rest i have a burning sensation in my heel and i have to loosen up my foot all over again until it stops hurting. i know this all sounds crazy, but i was wondering if anyone out there has sufferd anything similar...dave
