Q: Can't digest yogurt!

For a few years now I've been slightly lactose intolerant; upset stomach and/or diarrhea after consuming milk, ice cream, soft cheeses, and especially yogurt. I've switched to soymilk and other soy products and lactose-free milk and have had no digestive problems at all. I decided to try soy yogurt today for the first time, but I reacted the same way I did with dairy yogurt: it RAN right through me within 20 minutes. What could be affecting me? Would it be the cultures in the yogurt? I heard that the cultures are actually what make dairy easy to digest. I'm really confused. Any insight would be appreciated. Thanks!
