I lost my job last April and with it my insurence. I have been taking Zyprexa for 6 years. Zyprexa costs$259 a month (30 Pills) in the US. I was forced to buy the generic from Canada which costs me $239 for 100 pills. Now husband has been laid off and I can no longer afford any Zyprxa. Also can not afford to go to a shrink to try something cheaper. Any suggestions? Also have been trying to wean off Zyprexa but I am getting terrible anxiety and heart palpatations. Help!

I might not be a lot of help
Hello Mommagoose. I am guessing that you live in the US. I am very sorry indeed to read of your job loss and that of your husband. Not good.

As I understand it there are options you might want to look into in the states. (I am not an expert, and do not live in the US.

I gather that the government may help out with meds, and some talk of approaching the drug company who will supply their medication under certain conditions.

You may like to approach your doctor (he might know more about your getting "free" drugs or a social worker. One attached to a hospital maybe helpful.

I hope it works out for you and you husband.

I personally hate it when I see the economey as it is with people losing their jobs.
