In 2008 I suffered fractures in both femurs while in the Army. Since that time, both legs constantly hurt and I can only get a small bit of relief from pain medicines. As a result of my chronic and seemingly untreatable pain, I have trouble sleeping.

Last month at a VA doctors appointment, my doctor asked if I thought I might have PTSD. I replied that I didn't think so, but now it has got me wondering. Can one develop PTSD from this kind of injury and aftermath? I only realized a few days ago that I had no idea.
