ok, I really didn't kno where else to put this........
Ok, my friend came to me the other day & was tellin me she has been constantly sick lately, haveing alot of stomach pain, & some other things. Then she said almost a year ago, her bf & her was haveing problems & she was really depressed so she tried to overdose. Obviously she didn't try hard enough. (not tryin to be mean) She took a whole bottle of asprins, bottle of midal, & she drank a bottle of caugh medicine & some other stuff...... she said she that night she just felt really dizzy, her head was spinning, her ears was ringing, etc...... She said she wanted to go to the hospital, but she couldn't tell anyone what she had done.....

So now, almost a year later, what I want to kno & what she wants to kno is........
~Could the problems she's haveing now, be from her overdose?
~Could her insides (liver, kidneys, etc.) be messed up from her overdose?
~Should she go to the doctor to get this checked out?
~Can they do anything to her like put her in the sychword (not sure how to spell) even thou its a year later?

Thanks for any help!!!!

Aspirin can cause GI bleeding. Midol has tylenol aka acetaminophen in it and it can cause liver toxicity. So, in short, there could be some problems related to the ingestion of these medications. I don't think they would try to put her in a psych. unit at this point but may give her an antidepressant. The doctor can check liver enzymes to see if there is any liver damage. They can scope her GI (gastrointestinal) tract with an endoscope to see if there is any excoriation to the tissue in the stomach or intestines. She should go to the doctor.
