can i stop a period? it's the only weekend we can get away!

I am not on birth control, but do have a 6-month supply at home. (My boyfriend is sterile and I do not need them.) My question is... We are going away in 6 weeks, right during my period. Is there anything I can do now to stop it from coming during that time. If I just take the sugar pills now and try to stop my next period (due 1/31) will that throw off my schedule? My periods are like clock-work, every 27 days to be exact! What if I just start taking the pills I have and try to throw off my schedule for a month or two? I know this is pretty ridiculous, but we are both in our 40s, with kids, and our "alone" time is very, very few and far between. Unfortunately this is the only weekend we can both get away! Any suggestions?
